"No,"
"Toryn-"
"No!"
"It's not that-"
"NO! I did not agree that you would start going to his house,"
I gawk at Toryn, remaining calm and collected. He was somehow doing full sit-ups while maintaining a heated discussion with me.
Unless my encounter with Nemo counts... after lunch, once again, nothing eventful happened. Toryn and I went about our business, and Nemo and I didn't say a word to each other.
I didn't dare to tell Toryn what Nemo had said because I don't know about you, but I don't want to see my best friend die.
It's seventh period, or my gym class. It's Activity Day which means we get to basically have free time with the exercise equipment.
Everyone in this class usually goes for the dodgeballs (mainly because they want to be on Nemo's team), while Toryn and I stay at the other side of the gym, doing random workouts. Sometimes we secretly play a whole, intense game of Uno.
I rarely do the exercises because I end up getting tired after five minutes.
We only get away with it because the gym teacher, who is also Toryn's soccer Coach (we all call him Coach, he refuses to give us his last name for whatever bizarre reason), is rarely in the gym with us. I heard from gossip that he has this weird diarrhea problem.
If I'm going to be honest, that's one of the least disgusting rumors that's traveled around the school.
Trust me, I've heard worse.
From where I was sitting, I could see Nemo down at the other end of the gym, playing dodgeball. Occasionally, he would look my way and I would wave at him without Toryn noticing somehow.
He didn't wave back. Not a surprise.
It's not just Nemo, but everyone in this school takes dodgeball very seriously. I don't like playing because the other team always targets me.
Well, my head actually but still.
"I was at his house yesterday," I mindlessly say while bringing my knees to my chest to rest my head on them. Toryn sits up fast, his chest banging against his knees.
"Excuse me? How come I wasn't told about this?!"
I sigh, "Because I didn't you to have a heart attack, which is exactly what's going to happen if you don't calm down,"
Toryn groans, "I don't like this. I don't like him,"
"As you've said many times," I mumble.
"He's just taking advantage of the situation," Toryn states with confidence. I frown, cocking my head at him.
"Of what? He just needs a boost, Toryn. We've... discussed that he will only come to me when he needs assistance. Which is exactly what Mr. Smith wants me to do," I explain to Toryn and he scowls.
"Whatever you say," Toryn says and leans back down to do more sit-ups, "If he ends up making you do all the work, you owe me fifty bucks,"
I grin, "And you will owe me fifty bucks if he doesn't!"
Toryn sits up fast again, grinning back at me, "Deal. Easiest way to make fifty dollars, I'm telling you,"
I shake my head while stretching my legs out, "You aren't going to win,"
