Hiccup loved hanging out with Merida but the issue was he kept making a fool of himself trying not to flirt or show it anyway that he was in love with her. The worst part was that Hiccup knew that Merida could never love him that way. But he couldn't just avoid her. So he left. When he met Merida and Astrid they just flew and explored. Because for the Berkians the world got a whole lot bigger on the backs of dragons. Finding new dragons and new lands there was plenty to do. Merida loved her job when exploring, since she didn't want to leave Angus alone she would leave Arn with him. Then she would either fly with Astrid or Hiccup and when they found a dragon she would fly it just for the time being. They left most dragons free in there lands. Merida had been riding with Hiccup today and boy was it ruff for him. The way she held on to him and how her hair flew in the wind. Why does she have to be so perfect.
