Caught in the Feud

Chapter 21

Alexia's POV

The crack of the whip echoed in the room. My back seared with pain once more. 

"Stop please stop!" I screamed into the darkness. His smile widen at my words before the whip sounded once again. My screams made the whip seem like a whisper. 

"Face it this is where you belong." His voice cut through the darkness. The third crack rang through and it was the most painful one. I thought this torture was over before something started shaking my body.

"Wake up! Alexia wake up!" A voice exclaimed pulling me from the darkness. In my vision appeared Luka. I wanted to speak but a sob came out instead. His arms wrapped around me as he whispered sweet nothings into my ears. "Relax Alexia you're safe. It's going to be okay." He said soothingly. My nerves slowly calmed as he comforted me. He laid down next to me as my sobs fell silent. My breathing slowed as I felt tired once again but this time I felt safer. My eyes drift shut but before I fully sleep I hear him speak once again. "I'm going to protect you, mate." Mate? was the only word I thought before I fell into a dreamless sleep. 

{Time Skip: Next Morning}

Waking up I look but I don't see Luka. Maybe it was just a dream. Getting up I go to the closet to get ready for the day. The dream bothered me but not as bad the memories did. Changing quickly I put my t shirt on before heading over to where my phone was. Someone knocked at the door and a slight part of me wanted it to be Luka. 

"Come in." I said taking my phone off the charger. 

"Hey we are heading to the Pizzeria. Apparently there is a huge celebration happening in the city and they want us to cater." Kortney said happily. It's been a few days since everything happened and I haven't really been around since I told them what happened. 

"Okay lets go." I said putting it in my back pocket before following her out. 

"So how did you sleep?" She asked kind of awkward. They have all treated me like I am fragile since the pack doctor checked me out. 

"Fine." I said as we walk down the stairs. There the gang was waiting and they went quiet as we made it near them. It made me upset that they did this. "Why so quiet?" I asked trying to hide my annoyance. 

"Well no time for chit chat. Once again you're slow so we had to wait. Lets go slow hoe." Micah said before leaving for the door. At least he is treating me semi normal.

"Okay well that wasn't weird." I said sarcastically. 

"He's always weird now lets go." Kortney said before pulling me out the door. We have to take two cars now. The boys and their girls in one and us in the other. Luka was out there leaning against Kortney's car talking with Gaige.

"You said you needed help. I'm here to help." Luka said looking at me. 

"I meant Gaige could help. We don't need you." Kortney said before heading to the drivers side. 

"She's right man-"

"Wait if we are catering than its got to be more than just us and besides the boys are going to be teaching their mates." I said defending him for some reason. Kortney sighed at my words. 

"Fine but you better be working or you have Micah to deal with." Kortney threaten before getting in. I got into the passengers as the boys got in the back seat. The drive was silent and felt way longer than it was. The tension was so thick you could cut it with a knife. I understand that he was that way because of grief but maybe he isn't that way anymore. He seems different than what they said he is. We finally arrive at the Pizzeria and there are already a few more pack members that are going to help today. We get out of the car and the boys glare at Luka and I knew Kortney was talking to them through the weird mind link thing.
