Alexia's POV
It was 2 in the morning but I couldn't sleep. Visions of my Uncle's work played through my mind. His writing was very detailed and reading it made it feel like I experienced every kill and every torture session. He was worse than I ever believed. The girl we rescued, whose name is Estelle, seems to be doing a little better but its going to take a little time for her to trust us. This is all a little much for all of us. I get off my bed and leave my room. I need something to drink. The house was extremely quiet. Opening the Kitchen there was a small light on by the sink and it was more for safety purposes. I grab a glass from the cupboard before filling it up with water. Suddenly the light went on and blinded me for a quick second.
"Sorry I probably should've said something before turning it on." I heard an unfamiliar voice say. I turn to see a tall man almost as tall as Sebastian standing by the door.
"It's okay I just needed some water." I said gently as I turned off the faucet.
"I haven't really seen you here before." He said approaching me.
"I've only been here for about two weeks. Plus I don't always like to leave my room." I said with a slight blush. He chuckled.
"Maybe you should get out more. I'm Luka." He said extending his hand out to me. I shake it gently and something felt different, nice even.
"Alexia." I said simply.
"Well Alexia what are you doing up so early?" He asked sitting at the counter.
"Couldn't sleep. What about you?" I asked taking a seat next to him.
"Was hungry. I got back yesterday and have been training since. Want anything?" He asked looking at me.
"No I'm good." I said before taking a drink of my water. He got up and went to the fridge before getting things to make a simple sandwhich.
"You don't have a pack scent on you or a wolf scent." He said simply.
"Yeah I'm human." I said gently.
"So why are you in a pack of wolves?" He asked confused.
"I-"
"Alexia what are you doing awake?" Sebastian said entering the kitchen.
"I couldn't sleep so I came to get some water." I said gently.
"Alright well maybe you should head back to bed." Sebastian said not taking his eyes off of Luka.
"She doesn't have to. We were having a nice conversation." Luka said finished with making his sandwhich. Something says that Sebastian doesn't trust him and he hasn't been wrong before.
"It's okay. I feel tired now anyway. It was nice chatting with you Luka." I said gently.
"It was nice chatting with you too Alexia. Goodnight." He said finally looking at me again.
"Goodnight Luka." I said as I headed toward the door where Sebastian stood. "Goodnight Sebastian." I said passing him.
"Goodnight Alexia." He said not really looking at me as his eyes were trained onto Luka. I wonder why he was acting so weird. Luka seemed nice enough. My body felt tired finally as I neared my room. Thinking about when I shook Luka's hand and felt that weird nice feeling I can't help but wonder...no no not possible. I am a human and that just doesn't happen. I jumped into bed and the warmth of the bed comforted me. My mind fell into dreamland and I welcomed it with open arms.
{Next Morning}
"ALEXIA WAKE UP!" Kortney shouted and my body jerked but I didn't fall this time.
"Ugh what time is it?" I groaned.
"It's noon. We need to head to the house so come on and get ready." She said before leaving the room. I got up and head to the closet. Grabbing a olive green sweater and a pair of black leggings I get dressed quickly. I put on my brown combat boots before grabbing my phone and heading downstairs. Next time I am not staying up until two. Chatter could be heard from the living room and I see it was the gang. Estelle looked slightly at ease as she sat next to Sebastian. Daisy and Micah were enjoying each others company and Kortney was laughing at something Sebastian had said.
"Hey guys." I said walking into the room.
"Finally you're awake." Micah scoffed.
"Well if you weren't up at two in the morning talking to Luka maybe you would've been awake earlier." Sebastian scoffed with a sour look on his face.
"I don't get what you have against him." Rolling my eyes at his comment. I do not have the mental compacity to handle that right now.
"Wait Luka. You talked with Luka." Kortney said with concern.
"Yeah he was awake when I was and we just started talking." I said taking a seat on the end of the sectional near the front door.
"Alexia he is bad news." Micah said sternly.
"How is he bad news? I felt nice around him." I nearly whispered the last part.
"You-"
"Morning Alpha." Luka said coming into the room. I looked at him and he smiled at me which I returned.
"We have to go. Gaige, Jaxton, and Faye are waiting by the car." Kortney said standing up.
"I can go too-"
"No we need you at the Pizzeria. Micah already has your schedule. Come on Alexia." Kortney said leaving out the door. I looked at him once more before heading out as well. We got into the car without another word and the other three were in the back. Guess its time to see what else my Uncle is hiding from me.
{Third's POV}
Sebastian and Micah glared at Luka while Luka looked calm.
"What is your plan? You see a girl you haven't slept with and figure it would be easy." Micah said upset.
"No. She is my second chance." Luka said calmly.
"No not possible. Not even a consideration."
"She said it felt nice. I know its harder for humans to feel but you and I both know its not impossible." Luka said getting upset.
"Knowing your record, you are going to fuck her and leave." Sebastian said getting upset.
"It's not like that. I was grieving then. Now its different." Luka nearly growled.
"Stay away from her. She has had enough pain in her life. She doesn't need it from you. Now go your shift starts at one." Micah spoke in alpha tone. Luka growled before leaving the house with a slam of the door.
"Do you think that he is going to leave her alone?" Daisy asked quietly.
"He better or he will have to deal with us." Micah said angrily.
"Come on lets go help out the girls." Daisy said standing up and pulling Micah along. They already knew Sebastian and Estelle would stay behind due to her trauma. They only hoped that they could keep Alexia from getting hurt.
