chapter 1

School. Sucks. But... You gotta go. Ya know?? You gotta learn. Groaning I wake up to birds chirping their annoying songs. My gosh. I thought. The weekend was so short.
I slide my head through a new shirt I got with a pear if ripped jeans and converse. Strutting the runway on the foot of room that isn't occupied by clothes and shoes. Ok I'm done. Let's go eat. I grabbed my book bag from my bed and glide out of my room. Greeting my lovely parents in the kitchen making breakfast. Mmmm. Sausage and eggs.
"Good morning pumpkin!"
"Morning mom!!" I say sheepily.
"Hungry?" Question dad.
"I'm starving" I groan again. My dad hands me a heeping plate of eggs and sausage. He knows what I love for breakfast. "Thank you!"
"My pleasure sweetheart. " My dad was in a surprisingly very good mood. He quite literally was hoping around the house. My family is weird. Don't need to tell me twice. But I truly love them with all I have.
My younger sister, Logan, slid down the railing of the stairs and strutted her stuff into the kitchen. This is how every day is for me. we always get enough sleep. Almost never argue. Always happy and is open about pretty much everything. I wouldn't change it for the world.
My sister and I get ready to leave and get to the bus stop to meet our friends. We hug our parents a good day and a good bye.
As my sister and I walk to the bus stop, my friend, Jake, slides over to me. Little thing about him. He's one of my best friends. He may also be my biggest crush I've ever had. I plan on making sure our relationship doesn't change unless he feels the same way about me. Yep. He's just always gonna be my big crush until either I stop liking him or he makes the first move. I don't want to ruin things between us anyways.
"Hey Jordayn!!" His smile made my heart jump.
"Hey Jake! " He gives me the usually side hug that always gives me the jitters.
We walked and talked until we reachd the bus stop of our culdesac. We talked about our usually weekends and I had to remind Jake about the wrestling meet we have the end of the week.
The bus had come little later after arriving and we left to the school.
Now we live close enough to the school that we walk home but on cold days we ride the bus.
Jake and I sat be each other in every class we had. We caused little trouble in our classes but we were still mischievous none the less. We are never annoyed by each other and anything we do. Taste just who we are. We are the high school it couple. But not the it couple of romance. The it couple of being best friends of the opposite sex. We were not best friends though. We were best best friends. We know each other so well. It's kinda creepy.
We went to lunch after 5th period and sat at our usually spot. That's right we even have a spot. Jake and I are partly popular. At our table we have different people each time. That's just how it goes. It's like a schedule but cleaner. Monday we have jocks, Jake's friends. Tuesday It's cheerleaders, my friends. Wensday it's theatre kids and nerds, jake and my friends. Thursday is who ever gets their first. Last but not least on Friday is the gossip. Friday we talk about gossip from the past week.
We save everything we think is gossip throughout the week for Friday. That's the only rule at the table. Save your gossip until Friday.
I walked with Jake down to the gym to clean the mats before the other schools came. We went into the storage closet to get the mop and cleaner.
Jake grabbed the mop
"Does the cleaner need refilled?" Jake asked.
"Yeah. I got it" I answered. I crouched down to the cleaner bottle and started filling it.
Half way full and I felt something land on my head. I scratched my head and continued filling. I stood up and immediately flinched.
"You ok? " Genuine concern in Jake's eyes.
I flinched again and put my hand on my neck.
"I should be fine. Probably just a pinch on my neck" I looked at Jake and he picked the little dead spider off my shoulder.
"Heh. Must have died just recently." Jake and I examined it for a minute before I made a comment
"That is a weird spider. "
