It takes me a bit to fall asleep so I count down from 100 and I slowly drift to the unknown. When I arrive at the void something doesn’t seem right. It’s quiet. Too quiet for me. I walk around far enough from the edge but close enough to see the darkness that goes undiscovered. I want to know what is back there, but if I do I risk getting killed by who knows what. I turn around and the door I saw before is there, but this time. It’s open. I cautiously walk over and peek inside. Panic immediately washed over me. “I can see it in your face. The panic. What’s gotten you so scared?” A tall shady figure has the same shape as my elder but sounds meaner. Her voice is deeper. I hear something in front of her. Almost like muffled screaming. The figure turns around slowly. I want to run. But. I can't. My legs won’t move. I look up again at the figure who is now standing closer to me. She looks exactly like my elder. But she isn’t my elder. “Who are you?”
I managed to finally say something. “They say I’m a traitor. Maybe I am. All I know is I did what I had to do. I accept no responsibility and I would do it all again.” What is she talking about? I looked behind her and tears rimmed my eyes almost too quickly. The shackles grazed against her wrists as she changed position in an attempt to get comfortable. My elder was sitting there, almost covered head to toe with blood. “You shouldn’t have come here, Jordyn.” The shadow looked down at me. Her eyes were blacked out in an inky abis and her hair was parted the opposite way from my elders. “So that’s what you are.” I whispered in awe.“ “Excuse me?” The shadow lifted my chin. I stayed silent not knowing what would happen if I continued. Her smile was a bit too wide, a bit too cheerful, considering the blood on the walls I just now noticed. I close my eyes and wish for it to all be a dream. Nothing is a dream in the void. Watch for her jagged edges, for she is no sweet and dainty flower to be held. I opened my eyes again so see my elder looking at me relieved that I heard what she said. Or better yet what she thought. “There’s another side of her you don't know.” The shadow walks over to my elder and pulls the dagger out of her leg. Screams fill the void. Evil walks towards me and smiles. “It takes a very twisted and broken soul to do what you just did.” I looked up at her with a straight face. She hands me the dagger and the black webs surrounding my feet turn into an inky liquid. My chances are slim but I wasn't going to let that stop me. It's escape death. I'm not ready to die just yet. I have to get my elder out of here and not end up dead. “ I know you want answers and I’m more than willing to give them to you. But you just have to do me one favor.” she put her hands on my elder’s shoulders hard. Her nails dug into her skin dark crimson blood trickling down causing her to wince, this did not satisfy the shadow. “ Anti please!” My elder finally said something. “What have I told you about calling me that? The shadow paced behind her. “My name is Adi!” Why is everything going blurry again? My eyesight was getting better. My eyes started feeling heavy and I couldn't keep my balance. “Jordyn!” Adi glitched to my side and the same with my elder. The next thing I knew was I woke up on my floor in the middle of the day. I grabbed my phone only to see it’s blown up by texts from friends. My mom came into my room. “Tylers here honey. Get ready.” She pointed to an outfit on my desk. I scrambled to get ready. A couple of trippy and heavy-eyed hours later, Tyler carried me into a warehouse. I didn't care at this point what happened.
