I look at Daniel's eyes, still open but pupils inside of his head. I continue to stare at him, but I hear what's going on around me. Jannelle slowly walks to Lexi, who stirs in her sleep. I feel the cold air from Olivia floating behind me. Belle and Micro begin to chant a spell to block all the barriers around the town to any supernatural forces and teleport out of the room. Hera, Trixi, and Artemis walk around trying to figure out what they should do. Everything around me begins to fill my ears, amplifying to the point of deafness. My ears begin to ring and in the heat of the moment, I slam my foot into Daniel's head. I fill the cold blood splatter over my pants leg. Everything stops and I see Jannelle stop at the door out of the corner of my eye.
I feel numb. I have no emotion, yet I just accidentally killed my lover. I don't know what to do. I can't get off track right now. We can't stay here for too long. I'll mourn once I get home but for now, I must focus.
I face Jannelle and shake the blood and meat off of my heel. I shake my head and say, "I'm fine. I can't bog myself with what just happened. If I mourn right now, we'll never get anything done." I walk towards her and she winces when I walk over the remains of his head. We leave the room and we go back to the room to see Celeste barely breathing. I raise my eyebrow as Jannelle throws a blood bag at her. It misses her completely and Celeste narrows her eyes at Jannelle and crawls towards the bag. We both watch her gulp down the blood and her wounds close up and heal. She gets up on her feet and steadies herself. Celeste asks, "Where is Lexi? I need to make sure she's okay." Jannelle crosses her arms and says, "She was in good hands. Belle and I took good care of her. I'm waiting." Celeste looks back at her quizzically. "Waiting for what?" I roll my eyes. "She's waiting for a 'Thank You' obviously. I see you have no manners." I cross my arms and both me and Jannelle wear the same look of annoyance. Celeste just walks past us and goes to the room. I feel my temper began to rise and I start behind Celeste. I'm stopped by the stench from earlier grow stronger in my nostrils. My vision starts to double and I fall back against the wall. Jannelle tries to keep her balance but sits on the bed, her arms out in front of her.
I close my eyes and I see my current location and I look around the house to figure out what's going on. After mentally exploring for a while, I see the faint outline of a person in front of the entrance of the house. Around the body, a weird white line wrapped around it. I open my eyes and I sit up slowly from the wall. I walk to Jannelle and say, "I think I found why we keep getting dizzy and smell that horrid smell." Jannelle's eyes slowly opens and says, "Bet. It's starting make me feel sick to my fucking stomach. I already got slammed into a tree earlier, so I'm not ready for anymore surprises." I start to cackle and she walks away from me, leaving the room. I yell, "I'm the one who knows where the source is, dumb ass." I walk out to see her waiting in the hallway. We get to the entrance and the stench is the strongest it's ever been. I feel nauseous instantly. I cover my mouth and run to the nearest trash can. Jannelle has her battle mask on and laughs at me as I dry heave into the can. I put on my battle mask and walk back to the door. I close my eyes and the body is still there with the white energy line around it. Summoning our weapons, we get ready to open the door. I open it and in front of us was, in fact, a body. It was a young girl with battered clothes on. Her lips were cracked and her skin was cold but she was breathing, barely breathing. The white energy line around her was actually rope drenched in Anthurium sap, which is deadly to Royal Vampires. I narrow my eyes at the body.
"Whoever did this to her, must know about us and doesn't want anyone to be able to save her. They didn't think it through, though." I put on my protective but stylish gloves on and drag her inside the house. While dragging her into one of the sitting rooms downstairs, Jannelle begins to examine her.
"Well, she's barely breathing and she's wrapped in Anthurium Rope. She has wounds on her neck, abdomen, and one of her fingers have been sliced off. I don't know about anything else other than, she's being hunted, she's on the run, or she's a spy playing as if she's been captured." I lay her in the middle of the floor and Jannelle continues. "She smells human, though. I can smell it through her clothes and not to be rude or anything, but if she's on the brink of death, we can make it quick so she wouldn't have to suffer." My canines lengthen at the thought.
I haven't fed at all this whole time I've been here.
I shake my head and say, "Yeah, that is a good idea but there's something that's different about her." I look down at her face and her eyes are cracked open. I act as if I didn't notice and I walk around her body. "I am very hungry but any smart person would put Anthurium Sap on her neck." I squat down, grab her head and move it towards her left so we could see her neck. I see her eyes clench hard. I look back at Jannelle and she confirms that she saw it too.
I hiss and she clenches her eyes even harder. Grabbing the back of her head, I position it so she could see me."Open your eyes. We know you're alive." She opens her eyes slowly and looks at both me and Jannelle. Her eyes widen and she tries to crawl away. Jannelle throws a dagger and it swerves behind the girl, blade facing her head. "If you move, it will dig into your skull and you will be instantly dead." She stops in fear and stares at us.
"Tell us who and where you're from. I will be able to tell if you're lying. If you lie, I will not hesitate to rip your throat out and drink every drop of blood from your body.""Please don't kill me."
Jannelle rolls her eyes. "We won't if you tell us who you are."
"You might kill me anyways though."
"Just tell us who you are." I'm starting to get irritated. She's a little bit stupid, I can see that now.
"But what if-" Jannelle throws her other dagger and it stops in front of her eye while I speed in front of her with my blade at her throat.
"Okay! Okay! My name is Amelia....."
