Jesse's hand barely slipped out of mine when the voice from behind me boomed. "Want another round of shots?"

I exhaled through my nose. "Yes..."

"Excellent. Bartender!" The guy made eye contact with Ash, and a moment later, three glasses of tequila were slid in front of us. Jesse took one, while Ash grabbed the remaining two.

"Are you only going to torture me tonight?" I lifted a brow at him, meeting his dark gaze. "There are two victims standing right in front of you."

"Jesse, who are you really here to see tonight?" Ash asked, glancing over my shoulder.

"Vivi."

"Have you bagged her yet?"

I felt Jesse step closer, answering in a lowered voice. "Not even close. She has this thing for waiting for the one and sex being super meaningful to her. But I'm working on it!"

Ash nodded. "You can tell us about your plans, right after your recount the story of how you shit yourself on stage during the Grammy's one year." He smirked. "Here's your shot, red."

I took the glass from his outstretched hand, noticing that instead of starting with the salt, Ash propped the lime in his mouth, his dark eyes twinkling in mischief. I huffed, reading his mind. "You heard the rules. Nothing sexual I wouldn't normally do."

His smug look didn't falter, but he did lower the lime into his hand. "If you think this is sexual, you really need to get your mind out of the gutter, Gia. Now take your shot like a big girl!"

I was itching to slap that cocky look right off his face. But knowing it would give him even more satisfaction if I did that, I opted for the safer option. I made a show of slowly running my tongue over the back of my hand, tasting the salt, before tossing my drink back. Ash was already waiting for me, lime in his mouth, as he lowered his head. I moved forward, and without touching any part of him, bit down on the lime, letting it spray into my mouth.

Victory! I wanted to scream, my eyes opening to meet his. The lime dropped between us.

"Wow, guys! Am I interrupting something?!" Lukas LaBelle, bless his heart, chose this very moment to make his victory round around the room. He walked right up to his best friend and clapped Ash on the shoulder. "Don't stop on my account!" He smirked down at me. "I'm glad you two aren't at each other's throats the old fashioned way."

I rolled my eyes but murmured. "Happy birthday, Lukas!"

"It is much better now. Arielle suggested we hire dancers or trapeze artists for entertainment, but we decided to keep it low budget and just invite you two." He glanced back and forth between Ash and me, waiting for a reply he wasn't going to get. "Fine, if you're not going to laugh at my jokes, then at least come and dance with me!" He held his hand out, waiting for me.

"How could I say no?" I responded, allowing the sarcasm to drip through my tone. From the corner of my eye, I thought I caught Ash looking mighty pleased with himself as Lukas pulled me towards the crowd of sweaty bodies.

"I'm glad you came, Ginger. I know it means a lot to London as well." Lukas said once we were out of earshot.

I looked up at him, surprised. "You are?" I asked, sounding stupid, but thanks to the comfortable buzz I was now supporting, I didn't care.
