"These strong California winds really do gather the trash," Dom stepped into our dressing room with a shit-eating grin. "Wolfhart, how is your little redhead?"

I fought the urge to roll my eyes at him. He was trying to rile me up, and it was fucking working. "You should know. Judging by the small fortune I'm paying you, you keep in close contact with her."

He plopped down on the leather sofa across from mine. "I'm just offering legal help, she's doing all the heavy lifting. Could've told me how smart she was, man. There is something about women who can hold their end of the conversation..." Dom whistled, before noticing my somber expression. "She hasn't told you what we're working on, has she?"

At that moment, I wanted to punch him right in the smug, fucking face. But, I was a changed man. So instead, I leaned back and crossed my arms in front of my chest. "She likes to keep the mystery alive."

"I see," He grinned. "Well, she's in really good hands."

"Fuck off," I suggested and his grin widened. "Why are you here anyway?"

"This is a charity concert, isn't it?" He spread his arms wide, motioning to the venue around us. "I'm here to spend some money on a good cause. I have this big client paying me top dollar these days, so it feels right to give back."

This time, I did roll my eyes. "I have no idea who allowed you in, but you better put your money where your mouth is. We're looking to raise well into six figures tonight."

The concert series has already started. We've had three openers, one a bigger name than the other. We wanted to capture a wide variety of audiences, so the artist ranged from country to hip hop, and finally, closing with us. Each artist had a thirty-five-minute set, with fifteen minutes in between for redesigning the stage. Our part was going to be an hour long.

"Shouldn't you be out there already, then?" I pointed out.

The arena was open, making it feel more of a music festival rather than a series of concerts. There were no seats, everything happened on a first come first serve basis. And that included the multiple stands outside where the public could purchase drinks and snacks. All proceeds were going to a charity for kids and teens coming from a troubled background. The money we raised tonight would get them housing, scholarships, and hopefully a chance of a better future.

"Country isn't really my scene. I prefer the view back here," Dom glanced pointedly at the group of girls dressed in high waisted thongs and sports bras in the trailer next to us. They were the dancers for the second act and were busy pretending they didn't notice all the male attention.

Luckily, I didn't have to respond, because the next people who climbed up the stairs of our trailer were my mother and father. "Honey, it's insane out there!" My mom announced, coming to gather me in a hug.

I watched as Dom tried to hide a snicker over her shoulder before she turned to him.

"And you must be Dominic?" She asked, brows raised. Dom nodded. "I've heard so much about you! The boys really owe you a big one for getting them out of that horrible label situation back in the day. I'm Natalie, Ash's and Jesse's mom." She moved to hug him next, and I fought the urge to growl at my friend for wiggling his brows at me.

"She's hot!" He mouthed over her shoulder, making me roll my eyes. Of course, she was. I've been told about it all my life. There had to be somewhere I got my looks from.

"Hands off, man!" I warned in a low voice, before rising to my feet and giving my dad a handshake. "I'm glad you two could make it. You can watch the sets from backstage, there's a place behind the curtain."
