Hidan led us out of the bathroom and down the halls until we were yet again in front of Pain's office. Even though this man was technically my boss, I think I would do just fine if I never saw him again.

Instead of knocking like a regular person, Hidan made his presence known by barging through the door and yelling "Sup pincushion".

Not wanting to know wether or not Hidan's actions  pissed off said orange haired gang leader, I instinctively took a step behind Itachi. This earned me an odd look, but thankfully he didn't comment on it.

I wordlessly took my seat beside Itachi and peered out the window in front of us. It... wasn't pretty.

It was hard to tell who was from which side, but I got a fairly good idea once I saw what looked like two crucified bodies strung up on the perimeter fence.
I shuddered. And to think that I'd almost ran out of nightmare fuel for one lifetime.

"Deidara. I wanted to wait a while before I did this, but for obvious reasons, I'm going to get this over with now." Pain said, drawing my attention back to the table.

Before I could ask him what in the actual fuck that was supposed to mean, he pulled out a jet black pistol and aimed it straight at my face.

"Tell me everything you know about the Clubs." He demanded, his face giving away no amount of emotion whatsoever.

At least I knew that he wasn't actually going to kill me... probably. I looked beside me to see Itachi was visibly tense, which didn't help to calm me at all. At this point I realized that I should probably respond with something, but all I managed to stutter out was
"W-what the hell?" as I made eye contact with the man who was currently holding me at gunpoint.

Pain sighed. "Long story short: The Clubs has one of our men. We need to find out where he could be before he starts talking. Now, answer the question."

My luck wasn't getting any better. All I could really do at this point was tell the truth and try not to get myself shot.

"I don't know much. All I seriously did was accept an offer from the some sketchy ass stranger. From then on, all I got was a phone call telling me what to do and where to do it. If I did, there would be money in my mailbox. And if I didn't... I would have to make up one hell of an excuse," I rambled on. Seriously, could I just spend one day here without fearing for my life?

Hidan looked agitated. "That's nice blondie, but this little event just put twelve of our members in the hospital and three of them in the dirt. You're gonna need to tell us something that will actually help us give those bastards a taste of their own medicine."

Anyone in there right mind would know not to pick a fight with a guy like Hidan... but boy was he asking for it. Itachi's eyes held a look of warming. He must've been around me long enough to know what was about to happen. It only encouraged me.

"Excuse me? I sure as hell don't remember causing this mess, so cut the crap and stop acting like it's my damn fault, un," I spat, sending him the coldest glare I could muster.

"I never said that it was your fault, but do you honestly expect me to believe that you wreaked that much havoc on us without being told jack shit?"

"That's how I was able to do so much frontline work you asshat! They weren't afraid of sending me, because they knew I couldn't squeal to fucks like you!"

"I honestly have no fucking clue how Pain thinks Some random fucking lackey, from the CLUBS no less, could ever have a place in the Akatsuki."

"Ever heard of a pipe bomb? If so: I want you to know how badly I want to shove one down your-"

Pain released the safety on his gun; Effectively stopping the argument from getting any further.

"It's blatantly obvious that this was all a waste of my time," He sighed, lowering the gun. "Get out of my office. I have some calls to make."

Itachi was the first to leave, grabbing my arm and dragging me behind him. "You're a fucking dumbass." He sighed.

Seriously? I had to take shit from him now? I might have just got on the bad side of some cultist psychopath, but Hidan started it. Besides, it wasn't any of his business.

Itachi started to walk down the hall and I followed him. Half because I wanted to make my point in the argument, half because I sure as hell wasn't going to be left here.

"Nobody wanted your opinion, Uchiha. You people didn't even ask the name of the guy who recruited me." I growled

"It's because we already knew. Kabuto offered the position to you, right? Nobody working under him knows anything. Pain was probably just betting on dumb luck to make things easier."

I stayed silent. That information would have been good to know before a gun was held to my head. Honestly, I didn't know much about anything that was going on here.

We kept a steady pace down the hall until we reached the type of kitchen you'd see in a office. It looked plain, but it had a stove and looked clean-ish.

"This is cool, but I've kinda lost my-"
"Doesn't matter. We could be leaving in an hour from now, or at two in the morning. Just eat something and pray that they didn't take the hostage overseas," He interrupted, opening the fridge and scanning it's contents. "I'll make something."

He had a point. I had received some jobs at inconvenient times before, hunger was just one more thing to make you uncomfortable while working. "Thanks." I mumbled.

Not really knowing what else to do, I sat at one of the many chairs that lined the long rectangular table as I watched Itachi take rice and eggs from the fridge.

"That looks complicated. Why not just make instant ramen?" I asked. It's not that I was ungrateful or anything, it just seemed like an unnecessary amount of work.

Itachi scoffed. "Instant ramen gives you cancer. Besides, I'm only making fried rice"

"Higher risk of." I corrected.
