From the straightness in our necks an arch has grown
To help us stare down at the devices we own
Constantly competing for the perfect display
Posting lies and reflective eyes for the games we playSelling our bodies to gain a name
Where thousands of impersonalities
Beats the heart of one true personality
A soul that got lost in all the rainToday's headlines are tomorrow's fame
It's an obsession... playing this social game
It's the looks that trumps the power of the mind
When did our inventions make us so blind?
Create yourself a name or get left behind. It's a strategy of swim or sink
Follow the crowd, what do you think?
Flock together like metaphorical sheep
It's easy to be shallow when it's not that deep.
