Chapter: Ocean Waves

Chapter five

The blasting cannons were already heard. The stepping noises from the deck became to grow. But Yunho remained calm. I had seen young boys do something I would wish so young would not do, but I scared myself by thinking I have almost get used to it. But then there was a yell.

"ALL MEN ON BOARD"

Not too panicked but a slight concern in the voice. Yunho's eyes grew big and he took a moment before looking at me.

"didn't you say that-"

Yunho snapped his head at me

"I said they would not be an easy piece, but you can win them. With all men on board, and you will probably lose a couple, but let's hope not"

I cut him off. Yunho sighed.

"I'll leave the cutlass on the first drawer if someone prokes in, I assume you can defend yourself"

"I would gladly help on the battlefield"

"no, you are injured, I'm not letting you fight like that"

He answered as quickly as possible and looked deep into my eyes as I just nodded. With a last sigh, he left. I looked out as the door was closed. I didn't see much but the whole crew was running around preparing the cannons and themself to fight. And the temptation to join was only growing, and then I remembered. Hyungwon, he was tide on the main mast and a bloody fight is gonna have a blast around him. And one, I knew Hyungwon loves to fight, two being tied to the mast would make him a perfect target to anyone. But I couldn't go out there, the English navy would recognize me. England and France were..somewhat allays and I have met the general and some of his men, I couldn't risk that maybe some was on that ship.

The yelling and growling grew louder as I tried to think of a way to help Hyungwon. I looked around to see what I was dealing with. I decided not to look behind the other door, if I was too rude I would probably end up being shark food.

I looked over the table and saw a black rag there, I pick it up and smelled it. It had a weird smell on it but I didn't pass out so it was good enough. Then I took the cutlass Yunho mentioned and placed it on the table for now besides the rag. I wanted to belive I was left with something but all of our weapons were taken already. I was getting desperate for a weapon so I started to go through the other drawers. And from the last one, I found a small musket. But as I was looking for calibers I noticed that the gun only looked like a musketoon. It could be loaded with five bullets and the firing system was much more like the ones back in Korea, nothing like the ones I had used in france.

I tied the rag over my face, took the cutlass and the musketoon as I went behind the door to the deck. The screams had grown louder and the noise of bodies falling on the floor made me sure that the navy had reached the ship. I opened the door just slightly and it was something I couldn't even imagine. The bodies of the pirates and the navy were thrown around the deck on off of it. But I had to focus. 

I took the musketoon and loaded it. the familiar sound of metal clicking got my adrenalin going. I opened the door just that I could see Hyungwon and stuck the musketoon out and shot the ropes a couple of times. Quickly I pulled the musketoon back and looked that did Hyungwon get free. Within second Hyngwon got himself out of the ropes and was ready to fight. 

I closed the door to take a couple of deep breaths. No-one seemed to notice a couple of shots coming out of nowhere in the middle of a fight. Knowing what would come next I calmed myself once more. But then again did I know what would be coming next? I had been training for about seven months but I never had been to a big fight like this. My mind was all over the place and I couldn't come up with a solution.

"man up bitch!"

I hissed to myself as I slapped my cheek. With the last deep breath, I opened the door to a complete chaos. I had to think fast, but I couldn't do it fast enough when I was already attacked by someone so I did what I knew the best in the situation.

Everything just went blank

The next time I realized what I was doing was when I pulled a sword out of a man with the navy uniform. His limb body fell over the board and soon came a splash. I killed a man. I took a life from someone, not even knowing if he had really done anything to be killed. 

"EVERYONE STOP FIGHTING!"

Was the last yell I heard before everything went fuzzy. I felt as someone took me by my waist pulling me away from the edge of the ship. I didn't know what to do, how to feel. I tried to remember what Shownu had told me when talked about the topic. but my thoughts were interrupted by someone calling my name. I turned to see Hyungwonputting me down and keeping me close.

"am I dreaming?"

I asked and Hyungwon looked at me confused.

" I thought you looked worried just a second ago"

Hyungwon sighed

"I have never seen you like that before either, I got almost scared by you"

"you? oh I don't think so"

Then another familiar voice came towards us

"Are you okay?"

He looked really worried. I tried to think why but like he had read my mind

"You're losing a lot of blood, let's get you to the sickbay."
