Matthew's POV
I should be smiling. I should be screaming with joy that my crush, the only friend I have, is my partner for this project. But I wasn't. At least not very happy. I just....I didn't want to get bullied again. That whole locker incident..I didn't want it to happen again. And it would likely be worse if it did...sigh.
Before this point, me and Rich were practically inseparable. At least outside of school. We were always hanging out and spending time with each other. I could feel our relationship growing. Honestly at this point I want to ask him out. I really want to. I can already imagine myself with him...snuggling him...running to his arms...mmmm...
"Matt, are you alright?"
I snapped back to reality. Everyone was already staring at us, but now Rich was looking at me concerned. I nodded my head and smiled at him. I can't let other people's opinions stop me, not even their actions. Even though it's very scary...I have to man up. For him.
Mr. CroakerPot continued explaining the rules and things the assignment had to have and stuff. I whispered to Rich and told him to meet me afterschool in the outside area of the cafeteria. He nodded. I mentally stored all the info and during my next few periods I started writing. By lunchtime I had one page and a half done. And by art I had the whole essays complete. Since I wanted to ask Rich out, I should probably get him a gift. Or better yet make him one. But what would he like? Wait! I have the perfect idea~ I started drawing with a huge grin on my face for the whole class. I could tell Rich was intrigued but I didn't look at him so I wouldn't hint anything. Teehee.
Richard's POV
What is that boy up too? Every second I look at him he's smiling and drawing in his little book. Maybe it has something to do with our little meeting later. I'm pretty sure it's just a normal like work session, but knowing Matt he probably thought out like 57 hours before and after the meetup, so he most likely has a plan. Little Mattie will likely be nervous too so I'll just go with whatever he has planned. I've noticed he's less scared and timid in front of others now too. I'm really liking how confident he's getting.
The bell rang, and everyone started packing up and leaving and whatnot. I got my stuff up and was about to leave when Mattie tapped my shoulder. When i looked at him, he still had that same bright smile, but then he did something that really got me. He winked at me. Just a plain old wink. Then left for the cafeteria. I was left standing there confused, just like I left him the first day of school. If his goal was to confuse the hell out of me but leave me craving more, then he succeeded.
Matthew's POV
Haha my little plan was working! I can feel it! That look of utter confusion on Rich's face was proof enough my plan was working! I giggled as I walked down the halls to the cafeteria. People stared at me like I was freak but I didn't care. All that mattered was making myself, and RIch happy. I went out to outside area and sat beside the tree. The perfect spot. I waited there for a few minutes and finally saw him step out. My heart did some jumping jacks in my chest while I tried my best not to look that nervous. I waved over to him and he walked over smiling. I gave him a hug and he felt so soft.
"So why'd you want us to meet up?"
He asked so casually like he didn't already know why. Well to be fair he probably didn't.
