OMNISCIENT POV

It had been months since Zhan started his internship in a software development company. His mother was pregnant which made him ecstatic because even if something bad happened to him at least his mother won't be lonely anymore but thankfully he had not seen Yibo in these past months.
Another winter was in the way and he was still single. The case of Xiaobing was still on but the police couldn't find the clues but he was petrified from deep inside. He kept himself busy by doing extra hours.

Currently, he is working in his cabin. He picks some files for photocopy and starts to walk towards the room but someone calls him,

"Hey, Zhan!"

Zhan turns back and looks at the person which was his colleague lily.

"Yes?"

"Take these files too for photocopying." She says giving him a pile of files. He nods and walks over to the room.

When he came back it was already the time for a lunch break. He gave the files to Lily and then he goes to his desk and puts the paper on it.

'I should eat the lunch in the cafeteria.' He thought as his stomach growled. He stood up and stretched his arms yawning in the process. He was about to go outside when Lily came to him with lunch.

"Take this." She said with a smile and handing him the lunch.

"Oh well, thanks but it wasn't needed," Zhan said happily because it was the first time someone gave him lunch in his workplace.

"Oh! Sorry, I forgot to tell you." She said clasping her hand on her forehead.

"A handsome guy asked me to give this to you."

Zhan was taken by surprise at her statement and his mind went to Yibo, straight not because his other friends weren't handsome but cause they all were out of the city.

"Did he have brown hair?" He asked her.

She nodded. "Yeah, and he was looking hot too. Omg, If he is single could you please give me his number." She said squealing in her high pitched voice.

"No," Zhan said with anger and left. He sat on his chair and placed his head on the desk. He didn't know if he was angry because Yibo was back in his life or because of the girl who was asking for his number.

He threw the lunch in the bin and decided to take a nap.

On his way back home when he was sitting at the metro seat, he felt someone's stares at him. He looked here and there but suddenly his sight caught a familiar figure who was standing beside the pole with earplugs on and was scrolling through his phone. His breaths became uneven and his heart began to palpitate faster. He averted his gaze quickly lest their eyes meet. He then covered his face with the magazine in his hands. But to his surprise, Yibo didn't look at him which made him wonder. He stood there silently. Zhan moved a bit away from him but he still didn't look at him.

Days passed just like that and Yibo would be always there beside him in the subway but never tried to make a move on Zhan or even look at him.

Zhan was surprised but relieved too. He had thought that exams of high schoolers were going so maybe Yibo was busy or perhaps maybe he was changed but whatever it was Zhan no longer felt uncomfortable around him and he was glad.

One day he was going back to his home on the subway but fell asleep suddenly his phone buzzed which disturbed his sleep. He saw the message still half asleep,

Yibo🐇: Your station is near.

Then Tim and by the time he looked outside, it was already his station so he hurriedly got off his seat and out of the subway. He was grateful to him.

For the first, he felt happy when Yibo helped him.
