OMNISCIENT POV

When Yibo came in the room with dinner tray in his hands and content smile on his features, it was already night but Zhan was still sitting in the same position from prior, eyes closed and body shaking.

"Zhan, wakie wakie." Yibo said going closer to the cage.

"Zhan, your efforts are all in vain. Just accept the reality and forget about your family. You and me will live together forever."

Yibo kept saying these things to provoke Zhan but Zhan remained unbothered. He knew what Yibo was trying to do. He was feeling weak too as he didn't eat anything for two days in row.

'Now it's my time to roll the dice.' Zhan thought and left a dramatic sigh of defeat.

"Y-you are right. I should forget about my fa-family now and move on with y-you." Zhan said hesitantly, reaching for the bars.

Yibo smiled softly and opened the cage to give him food and locked it afterwards when he got out.

"You know Zhan, I started building this cage four years ago when I finally found you after all these years but I already completed it in my mind when i was a kid, when we used to live together." Yibo said with an amusing chuckle.

To say Zhan was terrified would be an understatement but still he didn't show it and play cool.

"That's a lo-long period of time." Zhan said hesitantly.

"Yeah, look at this carving." Yibo said pointing at the bar. "Each carving like this took a month."

"R-really, you put a lot of effort in it." Zhan said while eating his food.

"Firstly I learned from professionals then I move on to carving it. But you inside it, is increasing its beauty." Yibo said smiling fondly.

Zhan choked on his food.

"Slow down a bit." Yibo said with a soft smile.

Zhan just nodded and averted his gaze back to his food.

'I just want to get hell out of here.' He thought.

After finishing his dinner Zhan spoke up,

"I wanna go bathroom."

"Wait a minute." Yibo said quickly as he went out to fetch some keys, after opening the cage he quickly locked it when he got in. He looked at Zhan and gave him a soft smile. Zhan backed away a little.

Yibo quickly kneeled down in front of him and unlocked his tied foot which was bruised badly. He saw it and caressed it a little which made Zhan hissed in pain.

"Is it hurting?" Yibo asked with a sad tone. But Zhan just rolled his eyes, fed up of all his insincere care.

"Can I go now?" Zhan said with monotone voice. Yibo nodded and let go of his foot. He went to the bathroom which was attached to back of the cage.

Yibo just waited there until he came back. And when Zhan did come back Yibo left the cage and locked it but didn't tied Zhan's leg.

'Strange.' Zhan thought but shook his head. 'Maybe something's cooking in his mind.'

A week passed just like that and Zhan had managed to make Yibo believe that he really had moved on from his earlier life and was now happy with Yibo. He also gathered some of the important information from Yibo, indirectly of course. And with a solid plan, not indeed, he was ready to escape from the hell by executing it.

They were both laying on the Zhan's bed. Yibo was reading the book out loud while Zhan was listening to him.

"Could you bring some clothes for me?" Zhan asked Yibo who was busy reading his book, Yibo side glanced at him and nodded.

"Wait." He said while getting up from the bed. He got out of bed, opened the lock got out of the cage and locked it again. Zhan just sat there internally cursing Yibo.

After few minutes Yibo came up with the bunch of new clothes.

He gave them to Zhan and then Zhan spoke up,

"Wanna bath together?" Zhan asked in his soft voice, hopefully.

"What's with you today? Are you fine baby?" Yibo said putting his hands on his forehead to check his temperature.

"Stop it. You don't wanna come, then fine." Zhan said giving him last warning.

"Of course I wanna join." Yibo said hurriedly.

Zhan just rolled his eyes at him but was smirking internally though he was feeling terrified too.

Their bathing session soon got heated up and both end up in the bed making out after bathing. The rest of the night was pretty tiring for both.

Night went by slower than Zhan had expected as he didn't sleep all night. When it was a little bright outside Zhan quietly got up from the bed and wore his clothes. Then he quietly took keys out of Yibo's pocket. He already knew from his experience that Yibo usually had his deepest slumbers after sex so he wouldn't bug.

When the keys came into his hands, he started shaking from the fear. He hurriedly unlocked the cage and ran out of the room barefooted. And when he reached the main door it wasn't locked, he felt like god saved his dear life.

As long as he opened the door a strong gust of cold wind hit him hard but all he was thinking about the escape. He started running barefooted as fast he could.

After running continually for a straight hour, he saw a cottage afar which made his glossy due to relief.

It took him another fifteen minutes of running to reach there. His feets were bleeding and aching, his body was trembling but all he was thinking about his freedom from a certain demon.

He hurriedly started knocking on the door, with his erratic breaths while panting hard.

After a minute which for Zhan felt like hours, an old grandpa looking man opened the door but when he saw Zhan's condition he hurriedly helped him getting in.

He made him sit on a wooden chair and fetched a glass of water.

"Hey! What are you doing in this deserted land and how did you get these wounds?" The man asked concerned.

"Ca-can I call someone?" Zhan asked between his unsteady breathes, losinghis sanity.

"I've had phone but I'm not sure about networks?" The man said in hoarse voice, pitying Zhan while giving him a landline phone.

"Please please god." Zhan said panicked as tears welled up at the corner of his eyes. He hurriedly typed his mother's number but the network wasn't working.

"No please! Please god!" Zhan screamed in frustration but when ring actually went, he heard something that made his ears almost bleed,

Bang!!!

A gunshot....
