Fire on fire (Sokka x Reader/Zuko x Reader)

You always thought Aang was a funny name.

WELL, IT SURE WASN'T FUNNY WHEN YOU HEARD IT INSIDE THAT BUNKER.

The climb down felt eternal. You considered trying to get out, but the top of the tunnel was all earth, and if you firebent under there, you would've most likely burnt your face.

The yelling didn't stop. You heard names that didn't sound familiar to you, but you did recognize one of them: Long Feng. He had worked with your parents in the past and you had seen him in person a couple of times. What did he have to do with this?

You reached the bottom and looked around. It looked like a train station with no railroads. You saw them immediately, Dai Li agents. Those obnoxious pieces of crap were everywhere! The virus of the Dai Li. You had acquired a particular hate towards them thanks to Kuzon, he was convinced they were the ones convincing everyone in Ba Sing Se that there was no war.

It didn't take long for you to see him. He was younger than you expected, he looked exactly like he did in the pictures with Kuzon, and he was with a group. He looked short compared to the others, you were probably a couple of inches taller than him. If it made any sense, the best way you had to describe him would've been: Not avatar-esque.

You thought of following him, but something caught your eye: The Dai Li agents. They weren't following him, they were going the opposite direction. Something inside you made you make an impulsive decision, what the fuck is new. You decided to follow them, maybe they would lead you to Long Feng and you could ask him what was going on.

They led you to a small hallway that twisted until they were going the same direction as the avatar. They entered a room and hid. You didn't follow them inside.

You decided to keep walking through the hallway, maybe that way you would find Long Feng or the Avatar and get some answers for Omashu's sake. You entered a big room, with two fountains emerging from the walls. It wasn't long before you heard the blasts of water, earth, and fire coming from the other side of the wall. You almost froze when you realized. It was a set-up for the avatar.

Maybe a minute or two of booms and blasts passed by, you were so fucking stressed. Should you go back? Should you stay there? Should you even be there? Maybe all the questions stampeding through your mind made you run and hide behind a pillar when you heard a blast coming from the hallway, and footsteps running towards the room.

You saw Long Feng get inside and earthbend himself over the entrance, and in came the avatar with another kid, a little taller than you, holding tiger hook swords.

Long Feng closed the entrance and stood in front of them. "Alright, avatar. You've caused me enough problems already. This is your last chance. If you want your bison back."

"You do have Appa! Tell me where he is!"

"Agree to exit the city now, and I'll waive all charges against you and allow you to leave with your lost pet."

What was going on? Long Feng was...the bad guy? No way, he worked for the Earth King! He wanted the best for Ba Sing Se! there was no way!

You were so caught up with thinking, you almost had a heart attack when you heard the other kid, Jet, scream and send his sword towards the Avatar. This is a full-blown battle. Get your head in the game!

"Jet! Look inside your heart, you're a freedom fighter!"

BOOM! You couldn't help your curiosity. You had to look. You gasped in horror as a giant rising stone hit the boy from below.

"JET!" The avatar broke his battle stance and ran to kneel next to the injured boy. Long Feng started moving his hands, he was going to strike the avatar while he was distraught.

You didn't know what to do. If something happened to the avatar the world would have to wait for another avatar to be born and stop the war, you couldn't let that happen. In between all these thoughts, something took over your body.

*BLAST*

Shit.

You opened your eyes to see Long Feng laying on the floor. What had you done? You heard earthbending coming from behind you, it was the other kids. They didn't have a chance to say anything before you were flocked with Dai Li agents from the front.

"Can you cover for us?" Asked the avatar towards you.

"What?" you asked. *BLAST* you didn't even notice your hands sending out flames towards the astounded Dai Li agents. "Sorry, sorry! yes, go ahead!"

"She's fire nation!!" Yelled the water-tribe boy.

"Toph, get Jet and everyone else out of here" yelled the avatar while turning towards you. "ready?" he asked.

"Not at all" *BLAST*

The fire and air combined making a tornado of flames, if you hadn't been peeing your pants from fear, you actually might've had the guts to say it was...pretty. The Dai Li agents fell fast, they weren't used to fighting fire.

'Alright, let's get out of here...what's your name again?" Asked the avatar as he earthbent you to the top of the lake.

"(y/n)" you answered.

"Oh, that's funny. It reminds me of a friend." He said. There were more Dai Li agents at the top, accompanied by Long Feng.

You didn't wait for instructions, and lept towards them and started blasting fire right away. They were as shocked as you had expected. You were so focused on the fight you didn't even see the bison until it landed next to you.

"Everyone get on! (y/n) what are you waiting for?!"

The Dai Li gathered around you, sending earth in your direction and trying to dodge the fire, mostly failing. "No thanks! *BLAST* I'm better off *BLAST* down here-OH FUCK!" You felt the blind girl earthbend you onto the bison just before it took flight. "OKAY! NO! NONONO! I WANT DOWN! AHHHH!" You held on to the bison for dear life.

Laughter came from the others in the crew as they looked at you. Yup! Just a relaxing day at the lake!
