"So we still up for the cinema later?" Isla asks sipping her coffee

"Absolutely, what time again?"

"About 6.30, are you not eating that" she asks looking at my cafe breakfast

"Too hungover to eat" I say massaging my temples

"That's your own fault" she says stabbing my bacon with her fork and moving it to her plate, I laugh and instantly regret it.

"Oh I forgot to tell you my mums throwing a little birthday dinner for dad tonight you should come," I say leaning my head in my hand.

"I don't know Jade its a family thing." Isla says cutting her fried slice

"Please, Ernest is bringing someone and I can not handle them both ganging up on me not while I'm hung over"

"What time?" she asks reluctantly

"After the film, we'll go straight there"

"Fine, do you want my toast?" she asks holding in front of my face, I take it and smile

"Why do order toast if you don't eat it?" I ask taking a bite

"Why do you order a full fry-up if you don't eat it?" she says filling her mouth with bacon beans and a couple of chips, I shake my head and laugh.

later that day Isla picks me up and starts she starts driving,

"Oh there's been a change of plans" Isla tells me, I give her a confused look but look out the passenger side mirror but it soon became clear where we were going. Isla and I arrive to our local football field, I stand at the entrance with my arms crossed

"You told me we were going to see a movie" I say

"We are" Isla says locking her car. I turn to face her; she had a big smile plastered on her face.

"This is a football field not a movie theatre" I tell her, she wasn't looking at me she was busy pulling loose threads of her jumper.

"We're going after" she casually explains

"So your making me sit through a football game?" I ask hoping she says that it was a joke, she throws me a pair of gloves and smiles, I stand there not wanting to move.

"Yes. It will be good to enjoy something other than a movie"

"At least the films are full of talented people" I say bluntly

"Your brothers' playing" Isla explains, standing next to me giving me her 'mum' look

"And?" I ask

"Don't you want to support him?"

"He knows my views on kicking a ball around a field" Isla sighs and rolls her eyes before walking into field leaving me standing in the middle of the entrance.

What felt like forever I went in search of Isla and her car keys, I spot her at the far end of the field and sigh. I walk on the edge of the playing field towards Isla dodging cheering men and women, stray footballs and sliding players.

"I need your keys"

"Why?" Isla asks clearly not feeling the cold

"It's freezing" I tell her, she looks and me and reaches into her coat pocket pulling out a five-pound note. She hands it to me and smiles

"Go and get us a couple of hot chocolates, the exercise will warm you up a little" I raise an eyebrow but walk back to get the drinks anything it better than watching grown men act like a dog playing with a ball.
