A YEAR LATER
I look at myself in the mirror, my dress long and pearl white fits me perfectly; I run my hands up and down the satin fabric and a smile appears on my face I'm marring my soulmate today. I look at the little picture of my dad framed and tied with a red ribbon on my bouquet, I run my finger across his picture and shed a little tear. My mum walks in wearing her teal dress with matching hat, she manages to hold in tears
"You look beautiful" she cries pulling me in for a hug, I pull away and give her a smile. Isla comes in shortly after in her red maid of honour dress, she busies herself making sure I had everything I needed before I know it Isla is making sure my dress isn't tucked in any places and my mother is placing my veil so its just right. Ernest waits at the door in his black suit and red tie, he's waiting to walk me down the isle; I walk to him and link my arm with his. the music starts to play and the doors start to open, I take a deep breath and smile.
As I walk down the isle with Ernest I look at Julian, he stands with his back to me but I can tell he's as nervous as I am, I reach Julian as the music stops; Ernest kisses my cheek and goes to stand by my mother. Julian takes a deep breath and looks at me, I see tears forming in his eyes,
'You look beautiful' he mouths, I wink at him and the ceremony starts.
The after party starts with my brother introducing us as Mr and Mrs Bennett, we walk in hand in hand. Julian and I walk on the dance floor, I place my hand on his should and he pulls me close resting his hand on the small of my back and tightening his grip on my other hand slightly. We start dancing to Aerosmith - I don't wanna miss a thing.
"So how does it feel to be Mrs Bennett?" Julian whispers
"Like it was meant to be" I sing, he smiles and kisses me. Our song ended and we made our way to our table where Ernest and Isla were sat; Ernest stood from his chair calling for everyone's attention.
"Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to thank you on behalf of my baby sister and her new husband for coming today. These two didn't have it easy in the beginning, neither one wanted to admit their feels but thanks to Isla they both managed to accept their feelings and we are now here! So if you would all join me in a toast to the happy couple and their matchmaker" he says holding up his glass of wine, everyone follows chanting to the happy couple.
We ate and had our pictures taken before the party continues with all our friends and family congratulating us and enjoy the party before sending Julian and myself off on our honeymoon.
