An hour later and five black coffee's later Isla and I stood in front of my front door; Isla pushes the door open and pushes in the house. My mum sat on the edge of the sofa her worried face covered with a thin layer of tears, I sat next to her and pulled her into a hug.
"I'm sorry" I whisper in her ear
"Your safe, that's all that matters" she cries, I pull away and look at the stairs
"She should still be awake" Isla tells me answering my unspoken question. I stand slowly making my way up the stairs to the single light pink door, I gently push it open finding Adeline sitting in bed with a book in her hands;
"What have you got there sweetie?" I ask walking over to her bed, I slide into a small gap and wrap my arm around her
"It's the pictures of yours and daddy's wedding" she sings, I fight back tears and kiss the top of her head; she closes the book and looks up at me. I see a question burning in the back of her eyes.
"What's wrong?" I ask pushing stray bits of hair from her face
"Daddy isn't coming back is he?" she asks
"No, he's not he's with grandad now" I tell her, she looks at me confused for a moment before opening the wedding album again to a picture of Julian and myself;
"Daddy was very happy here" she says, I rest my head on hers
"He was" i say

PRESENT DAY
"When I first saw him behind that bar, I thought he was like every other guy and when he started to point the obvious to me I was set to hate him; evermore so when I was kicked by a football during one of his five a side games. I remember my best friend Isla dragging me to our local bar one day, having had enough of us ignoring our feelings she put us both on the spot; I wish she had done it sooner now thinking about it. We hadn't been dating for a year when I knew I was in love with him, he told me he wanted to join the army my heart sank, I got so angry that he hadn't discussed it with me. When he left I thought it over I thought I had lost the only person I had every truly loved; so I went to my friends house half drunk and she helped me realise I did love him and that was the biggest test of our relationship when I went to apologise he had forgiven me instantly and that was when I knew we could make it through anything. And we did, we got married, had a beautiful baby girl and we made so many great memories together. He touched so many people and for that we will always remember him."
