Luke

We'd been sitting in the tunnel thing for nearly fifteen minutes in a comfortable silence, Ellie was still trying to breathe like me, which was quite funny. I chuckled, shaking my head. I felt something weird in my pocket and it was bothering me like hell, I shoved my hand in my pocket and brought out the thing, it was a permanent marker.. 

"Why do you have a marker in your pocket?" Ellie laughed, sitting up. I shrugged, "But since I have it, I guess we could write 'Ellie and Luke were here'." 

She nodded, grabbing the marker and drawing a heart which looked fat and squished. She put a crooked arrow going through the heart and wrote Ellie + Luke. 

I smiled brightly, "Perfect." 

Ellie nodded, wrapping her arms around me and burying her head in my chest again, which I responded by wrapping my hands around her waist and pulling her on my lap, making her more comfortable. 

Just then, small drizzles began to fall, and the sky began to darken. Ellie was completely calm (she was still trying to breathe like me) and so was I. 

Soon the drizzles began to get bigger and bigger, thunder and lightning could be heard, and small drops of water was falling on my leg because there was a hole in the tunnel thing. Luckily it wasn't plastic, it would've had plenty of holes if it was. 

Ellie was running out of breath and it was funny as hell. "Ellie.." I chuckled, "stop." 

She grunted, "Why are you breathing like that?" 

"It's not my fault." I stuck my tongue out at her, making her groan.

After about half an hour, the rain had finally stopped and Ellie finally stopped trying to breathe like me. We both got out of the tunnel thing, and immediately started stretching our backs. 

"What time is it?" Ellie yawned, scratching her nape. I checked my phone, it was 9:22 PM. "It's nine twenty-two." 

She sighed, "My mom's gonna kill me.." She mumbled. I put my index finger on top of my upper lip, "You could spend the night at mine?" My sentence came out more like a question. 

She laughed, "No, I couldn't.." I laughed back, "Yes you could." 

"No Luk-" She got cut off by a familiar yell, "LUKE!" 

I automatically turned around, facing the last person I wanted to see right now.. 

"I've been looking for you everywhere! And I figured I'd find you somewhere.." She scanned the old park, squinting when she saw Ellie, then looked back at me, "stupid." She finished her sentence. 

I rolled my eyes, "Ellie, this is Ashley, and Ashley, this is Ellie. And what do you want?" 

"Lukey.." Ashley pouted, "We are still dating, why are you with this...  Thing?" She pointed at Ellie, looking at her in disgust. 

Ellie bit her lip, obviously holding back words or tears. "Fuck off Ashley, you and I are over. O-V-E-R. And Ellie obviously has more common sense than you could ever dream of, like, come on. You got pregnant with another guy, got an abortion, then you have the fucking guts to say we're still dating?" 

Ashley pouted once again, I looked at Ellie, who seemed interested in her feet more than anything else. "Ellie, let's go." I sighed, pulling her away from Ashley. 

Ellie is an amazing girl, and she obviously doesn't deserve any shit that she goes through, and I'll make sure I make her happy and make her go through less shit. I will try my best to make her happy, and I'll make sure it works. 

I dragged her behind a thrift shop near the park,"Ellie-" She cut me off, "Luke it's fine." 

I shook my head, "No. You deserve way fucking better." I said through my gritted teeth, "I'm so sorry about that.." 

She shook her head, pushing me against a brick wall and resting her palms on my chest. "You're the first person to care, and I appreciate that, but you have to-" 

"Ellie I'll do anything to make you happy. Most of the girls are crappy, and girls like you are rare to find, and I don't need us to be anything relationship-y, I just want-" This time she cut me off, but she cut me off by pressing her soft, gentle lips on mine. 

It had me in surprise for a second, but I immediately responded to her action, and it made me feel alive, happy and important.

10:22 PM

"Look who decided to stay." I smirked at Ellie, who was in my clothes already. 

"It's only because you'll feed me in the morning."
