"Why did you take me here?"

Daniel sighed and ran his hands through his hair. He looked at his face in the bathroom mirror.

"You're a disgrace"

"If you don't take this job, you are no longer a son of mine"

Flashbacks from Sunday night ran through his head. He still felt weak and he was still slightly limping but he decided he had to go to school.

Daniel sighed and applied more make-up to his face but the bruises were still visible. Yesterday was worse, he couldn't even get out of bed so his mother told their housemaids to bring food into his room.

He bet that Zach and Christina had been calling him non-stop but his phone broke when his father threw it across the room.

Daniel sighed exasperatedly and gave up on hiding the bruises. He quickly threw on a casual outfit of baggy hoodie and jeans and left the room.

"Mom, I'm gonna go to school now" He told his mom, who was sitting on one of the chairs in the living room, sipping a cup of tea.

"Are you sure you won't eat breakfast?" His mother asked.

Daniel shook his head weakly.

"I'll have Martin drive you" Keri stood up from her chair and walked over to his son and gave him a kiss on the forehead. "I love you okay?"

"I-i love you too" Daniel stepped away, "I'm gonna go now"

Keri watched his son walk away with a worried look on her face.

Daniel was placing his stuff in his locker when a shadow loomed over him.

"Hey Zach-" He turned around and was suprised to see Cory, "What do you want?"

"What happened to your face-"

"None of your business" Daniel slammed his locker shut and leaned on it, "Is that all? Can I go now-"

"What's gotten you so worked up?"

"As I said, none of your business Cory. I'm going-" Daniel started walking towards his class.

"Wait!" Corbyn grabbed his wrist.

"Ow fuck!" Daniel screamed and held his hand protectively towards his chest.

"Shit-I'm so sorry"

"What the fuck do you want?!"

They were starting to gather a crowd, Daniel gave them a glare and they went back to their previous tasks.

"N-nothing. I'll go now" Corbyn muttered.

Daniel sighed.

"I'm sorry for shouting... my wrist was broken and I'm not in the brightest mood right now... What were you going to say?"

Corbyn gave him a small smile.

"So I was thinking... if you wanted to... skip class?"

Daniel's eyes widened in surprise. Even Corbyn was surprised with himself.

"Shit what am I even getting myself into" Corbyn thought. He was probably going to regret it later but Daniel looked like he needed a break.

Daniel's face slowly grew into a smile.

"Are you even the Cory I know?"

"Don't get used to it" Corbyn smirked, "So...."

"Let's go" Daniel grabbed Corbyn's hand with his unbroken hand and led him outside the school. For a prestigious school, the security was shit.

Once they were in the parking lot, Corbyn led him to his car. He opened the passenger door for Daniel and quickly went to his side. Corbyn quickly started the car and sped out of school property.

"So... where are we going?" Daniel asked weakly, breaking the silence.

"I have an idea"

"We're here" Corbyn finally said, turning off the engine.

Daniel had been silent the whole ride, and Corbyn was not used to it. Corbyn got out of the car and Daniel followed moments later.

Daniel looked around and saw himself on a pristine beach. A few palm trees dotted on the shore, providing ample shade. The crystal blue water lapped over the sand. It was amazing how a place so beautiful was not crowded.

"This place is beautiful" Daniel said, his mouth agape.

"I know" Corbyn answered, "Wait, I have a blanket in the back of my car. I'll be back"

Corbyn went to the back of the car and returned a few minutes later.

"Let's go" Corbyn led him to a spot under a few palm trees, he spread the blanket and sat. "Are you just gonna stand there?"

Daniel sat down beside him.

"Why did you take me here?"

"Because you don't look alright at all" Corbyn answered.

"And how will going to a beach with you help?"

"I go to this place from time to time" Corbyn looked out into the ocean, the wind blowing at his hair, "When I need to take a break from the outside world. As you can see it's pretty... isolated"

"Does anyone else know this place?"

"I don't know...you're the only i've brought here. Even Jonah doesn't know about this place"

Daniel felt butterflies in his stomach.

Corbyn looked at him in the eye "What happened to you? Why are there bruises on your face?"
