Raven's POV

I just sat and stared into the flames in front of me. I thought about what it would be like if I didn'tbbecome a vampire. I'd probably be dead right now. Orcs attacked our village, I was lucky to survive the massacre, my parents didn't make it. I saw them die right in front of me. I got out of our home halfdead. That's when I was found by vampire, who saved my life by turning me into one of his kind. I don't know if anyone in my family survived except me If you can call it that. I hope my sisters also managed to escape the clutches of death.

Several hours passed and I decided to wake Thorin to relieve me. I gently shook his shoulder and prepared to leave. I was hoping he wouldn't notice. "Where are you going?" This guy will notice everything.

"I'm going for a walk, I don't want to sleep" I answered as I looked into the woods " I'm going to catch something on that occacion so we don't run out of supplies, it's still a long way to go"

"How do you want to hunt? You don't have a bow"

"I have my ways" With this, I turned and disappeared into the trees, as I have done so many times in my life. As I walked through the woods, I tried to sort my  thoughts. I don't know how long I was gone but I came back with 3 rabbits and fed myself as well. I caught 2 deers but of course I tooka minimal amount of blood to get stronger but not enough to kill them. Now I'm stronger then I was when I fell asleep for years. When I got back to the camp I sat down by the fire. My shoulder started to hurt, which I thought was strange. I unbuckled the top of my armor and noticed a knife wound from an earlier struggle. I thought it had closed on the hunt but obviously it did not. I was so focused on my shoulder that I didn't notice Thorin watching me.

"Where did you get hurt?" His voice came right next to me and I jumper a little in alarm but gave him only a glance and was more interested in my shoulder.

"In the fight from earlier" I replied with a sigh "I should be healthy by now but it looks like the blade had some poison that slows down my regeneration, I'll be fine, don't worry about me" (There's a poisonous flower which hurts only vampires, other races are immune to it)

"Let me at least bandage it up for you, to put some space between the wound and your armor."

I agreed uncertainly and allowed him to treat me. When he finished, I put my armor back on quickly. I didn't want him to see scar on my back , yes, I'm a vampire with scar but I got it before the transformation, so it couldn't be hidden. "Thank you for the treatment". "Don't mention it". I said good night to him and fell asleep propped up by Fantoma, who slept nearby, not only for a difficult day but also for me. She did not want to leave me alone if I happen to oversleep but I rather doubt it. I've slept for 400 years, I don't need more than 5 hours a week.If we don't run (I mean Fantoma and me) in the direct sunlight, webcan go without a break for 2 days straight.

~ Little time skip~

We set off in the morning for the Bree again. At our speed of riding and given distance, we should arrivebthere before evening. Of course, I don't know what I'll do when I get Thorin there safely.
