unexpected company

Chapter 4

Raven's POV

We've arrived in the Bree, finally. We put our horses in the stables and walked into Prancing Pony. I wasn't too excited about that but what could be gone. Thorin ordered something to eat while I just looked around, glad to wear my cloak.After a while Gandalf joined us and started to talk to dwarven king.Frankly, I was completely oblivious to what they were talking about but I noticed a man staring at us. As soon as Gandalf was gone, I turned to Thorin and asked him "did you notice that guy, he's still staring at us?"

"Which one, there are more of them"

"The one sitting in the corner of the room, on my left, hasn't taken his eyes off of us yet, I'm suprised he hasn't forgotten to blink"

"Yeah, I've noticed that, shall we go?"

"Where?" I asked suprised.

"To our room. You weren't listening?"

"Kind of". He rose with a sigh and I did the same and followed him into the room. When we walked in I noticed only one bed. I turned to Thorin and beckoned him to the bed, "take it, I'll sit by the window"

"You should rest for tomorrow"I was confused after he said that "Why? What's going to happen tomorrow?"

"You weren't listening at all,were you?" Thorin asked with amused expression.

"But I did, I've been listening, I just can't get into my head why should I rest more than you?"

"The road to the Blue Mountains is not easy" he told me. As soon as he finished saing that, I froze, 'wait,so, I'm supposed to go back to the Blue Mountains? Ugh,I hate backtracking. I've been there once before and I'm supposed to go back again? For what reason?'

"And what are we going to do there?" I asked once I procesed this new information.

"I'll go to the 7 Dwarf Kingdom rally, while you wait and than we're off to Shire."

"Oh, and, this is what we talked about?"

"Yeah, you said you were listening to what we were talking about, you should know that" Thorin laughed in the end of the sentance.

"Okay but why should I go too?"

"Because you are from now on apart of the company to reclaim Erebor" 'Wait, I AM WHAT NOW? when did this happened?' I screamed iternally. "Ok but what about Shire? Don't hobbits live there?"

"Yes, evidently but Gandalf said he found a burglar there, so we'll meet the other members of thegroup there afterwards."

"And what am I going for, a counsellor?" I asked with a laugh

"No, as an ally and friend."That struck me. I thought about it and said," Friend? I like that. I've never had many friends."

"Well, now you have." he said with a smile.

"Yeah, I do" I said, smiling too.

The next day we made our way back to the Blue Mountains. The road passed suprisingly fast. My injury had healed too, so, I do not have to worry about it. After the gathering 7 kingdoms, we set off to the Shire. Thorin looked grumpier than usual, so at one of the stops, I asked what was going on. He told me what he learned at the council and that we were alone in our task,that the others would not support us. Great but I think we could get there with me. I don't know about the dragon since I do not know how big he is but we could make the journey.
