unexpected company

Chapter 6

Thorin's POV

The next day we were all preparing for the trip. When everything was ready, we waited for the wizard and Raven. After a while, Gandalf came out of the door and headed for his horse, however, Raven remained standing in the doorway, propped against the door. "Move it, we have to go" I shouted ather. She just smiled and said " I bet I can catch you before you get beyond Shire"

"Whatever do you thing, when you get lost, don't come to me."

"Ha, maybe in your dreams"she laughed. Smiling, I shook my head and we set off.

Raven's POV

When they left, I closed the door and went to the kitchen. Of the little food left, I made Bilbo a quick breakfast and waited for him to wake up. I sat leaning against the wall with my eyes closed until I heard footsteps. I opened my eyes and looked at Bilbo in the doorway. "You've got breakfast ready in the kitchen, eat, pack your things quickly and we'll go" I said lazily. With the sound of my voice, he jumped, "I thought you were riding with them."

"I would be but Gandalf wanted me to give you a ride if you wanted to go too. What do you say? Yes or no?" I asked seriously. He looked around the room. "If it calms you down, I'm in charge of protection of all the members of the company, I won't let anything hurt you, I swear to you."

"Give me a minute to get ready."

"I'll be waiting outside and hurry up, we don't want to keep the boys waiting, do we?"

"Absolutely not" laughed Bilbo. Outside stood Fantoma looking towards the door. "Sorry girl, I didn't want to keep you waiting that long."

"It's all right, will you ever stop worrying about everything and everybody you let close?"

"Probably not."

"Ready to go?"

"I am, just wait for Bilbo."

"Ah, so he decided to come with us."

"Yes, he did.You don't mind a little extra weight, do you?"

"No, just don't let him kick too hard or pull my mane, will you."

"I'll sit infront of him, he'll be crushing my waist at most."

When Bilbo came running after us, he turned pale as he saw Fantoma but didn't faint like the last time. "I expected him to slap on the ground"Fantoma said to me. "So did I" I told her. Afterwards, I asked Bilbo if he had everything he needed. "All right, come on,we have to hurry"

"I-I'm not going t-to g-get on that h-horse" he said, all terrified. "What did I tell you? I'm not going to let anything happen to you, I'm going to sit in front of you and you're gonna hold tight around my waist, okay?"

"O-o-okay."I set him on Fantoma and then mounted myself. "Hold on tight"as I finished saying it I felt two arms holding as tightly as they could. 'Good thing I don't really need air or I'd suffocate' I thought.

"All right,Fantoma?"

"Yes?"

" At the gallop, we have to catch up."

"I understand, say when"

"GO!" As soon as I said it, Fantoma shot forward like an arrow into a nozzle.We ran fast through the Shire with Fantoma leaping over fances as well because she didn't want to orbit them and lose speed. We'd be in sight of our group in less than 3 minutes.
