Alex's POV
"Can we just stay home one more day?" I whined as Alida gathered her books for school. We've been home on recovery for a week plus our time in the hospital which felt really nice not having to sit in classes all day but sadly it was time to go back to school.
"No we missed too much school, we need to go back to catch up and you're a slow learner." She said.
"No I'm not watch, I'll be caught up as soon as we enter the building." I frowned, crossing my arms like a kid and walking out the room.
~~~~~~
"Bro what is he talking about?" I whispered to Logan. We were in photography class and Mr. Rodriguez was literally speaking a different language I swear. I didn't think photography was going to be this hard."He's just telling us what he wants to see in our photography project he gave us in September." I mentally slapped myself, I completely forgot about the project. I turned around to look at Alida who was shaking her head at me knowing she was right earlier.
"Alex, would you like to share?" I turned back around to face my teacher.
"Oh Logan was just telling me what you were talking about." He looked at me and Logan and smiled.
"Good job Logan, the project is due in two weeks, please give it your best." With that the bell rung signaling the end of class.
"Yeah you definitely caught up real fasts." Alida said walking past me.
"Shut up." I mumbled catching up to her.
We made it to her locker and a note dropped out of it when she opened it up. She picked it up and frowned as she read it.
"What does it say?" I said reaching over to grab it but she snatched it away.
"Uh nothing, just a note from my teacher. I should go to class, see u at lunch." She said walking away. Why would her teacher just shove a random note in her locker?
~~~~~~~~~~
Alida's POVIt's just some kid playing a prank on me. There's no way that was anyone else, no one could get in this school without ID. What if it's real though? Maybe I should tell someone, not Alex, she's always looking out for me, she needs a break.
"Hello? Earth to Alida." Ash waved her hand in my face. I forgot she was in economics with me.
"Sorry I was just thinking about something." I said looking up at her.
"Like what?" I paused for a second wondering if I should tell her or not.
"If I tell you, you have to promise you can't tell Alex." I said.
"I can't promise you that, it all depends on whatever you're going tell me." Fair enough. I pulled the note out of my pocket and gave it to her. She took it and read what was on the note.
"Alida what the hell?!" She yelled I shushed her as the teacher and students looked over in our direction .
"Would you two like to share what you guys are talking about?" The teacher asked.
"Yeah, Alida was just asking me if I could look at her pants to see if she ble-"
"Okay Ashley that's enough, thank you." The teacher turned back around.
"Why did you say that?" I whispered embarrassed. She shrugged.
"It worked, now why don't you tell Alex?" She asked me.
"I don't want her to worry, that's all she does." I said.
"Sis she worries about you because she cares about you and not to mention she likes you too, not like you didn't know that. You guys are so obsessed over each other it shows. Jeez I'm surprised you guys haven't fu-" I covered her mouth as I felt my face get hot.
"Do you ever stop talking?" I asked her, she shook her head. I sighed and removed my hand from her mouth. She was about to say something when the bull rung. She got up and waited for my to grab my things.
"Promise you'll tell her tonight." She said.
"Fine." I sighed. She smiled and grabbed my hand pulling me out the class.
"Good, now let's go."
~~~~~~~~
"How was the rest of your classes?" I asked Alex. We were in the car heading home from school."Boring, I don't know why I took chemistry, its so easy. I finish my work before any of the kids so all I do is sit there or sleep." She said.
"How are you so good at chem but can't figure out what's due in photography?" She looked at me funny before paying attention to the road.
"What?" I asked her. She shrugged as she pulled into the driveway.
"It's just easy I don't know." She got out the car and waited for me to get out too so she could lock it.
"You hungry?" She asked me as she walked into the kitchen.
"No I'm good. I have to tell you something." She closed the fridge and put her attention on me.
"What happened? Are you okay?" She asked. I pulled out the note from my pocket and gave it to her. She unfolded it and read it. She looked at me then rushed to shut the blinds and make sure everything was locked.
"Who is this?" I shrugged.
"It has no name on it. It's probably just one of the kids playing a prank on us."
"I don't care, until we find out your not going anywhere without me."
"It's really not that serious Alex." I frowned.
"Do you not remember what just happened to you? If this is who that guy was talking about he could do worse to you. And this note might actually be right, you probably won't be able to escape twice." She said looking at me. I stayed silent realizing she's right.
"I'm going to call Sarah." She walked out of the kitchen.
We just can't catch a break.
