Alex's P.O.V.

I woke up and felt a small figure next to me. I looked over and saw Alida sound asleep, I remembered that I told her to stay last night. After what she told me, I didn't want her going back to her house with her father there. There's something about her that makes me want to protect her. I felt her stirring so I looked and her big brown eyes were already looking up at me.

"Hi." She whispered and I just smiled and looked at her, I noticed something on her face and then giggled.

"You know, even with drool on the side of your cheek you still look adorable." I said. She blushed and hid her face and told me that it was embarrassing and I just laughed and got up to take a shower. I threw on some sweats and a tank top and walked out of the bathroom. I saw Alida just sitting there on my bed looking like a lost puppy.

"Do you want to grab something to eat?" I asked her.

"Can I take a shower first? And borrow some clothes to wear?" She asked. And I nodded throwing her a joggers and a sweatshirt. After what felt like a decade, she finally came out and was ready to go. I was so hungry waiting all that time that I didn't even wait for her to catch up to me and ran to the car and got into the drivers seat. She just laughed and slowly made her way to the car, since she wanted to be a slow poke when she reached the handle for the door I slowly reversed so she missed it. She tried to get it again and I reversed again, she started to get frustrated and I laughed. She went for a final time making sure I wasn't going to move and once she got her hand on the handle, I locked the doors and she groaned.

"Come one Alex I'm hungry." She whines and I laughed and unlocked the door because I was getting hungry too. When we got there, we got seated and placed our orders and then just sat there in silence for a while.

"What are you going to do when you get home?" I asked knowing that I can't keep her at my house as much as I wanted to. She shrugged.

"I'll just try to get in and to my room unnoticed." She simply said like she's done this a thousand times.

"What if he catches you?" I asked.

"Then I have to deal with whatever he says or does." She said. I clenched my jaw, I didn't want her to get hurt again. Who knows what he would do to her when she gets home. Our food came and we ate and talked and then left . I had to take her home now because if it was any later her dad would notice. The ride to her house was slow and quite. I parked a street away from her house and looked at her.

"Please be safe, and text me if anything happens." I said and she just nodded and said a quick thank you and then just left. Just like that, nothing more. I sighed and pulled off and went home.

The next day I woke up and immediately checked my phone to see any texts from Alida but there was nothing. So I sent her a quick text to make sure she was ok and then went to take a shower. When I got out I put on some jeans and a sweatshirt and headed out to make my way to school. I still didn't get a text from Alida and I was starting to get worried until I felt my phone buzz and I immediately checked it.

Alida: Hey! Sorry for responding so late I slept in a little... I'll see you at school

Me: Ok, that's good that you are ok. I'll see you later

I sighed in relief and pulled into the parking lot and got my stuff and made my way into the school. I saw Ash by my locker and I smiled at her.

"What's up?" I said as I put some books in my locker. She shrugged.

"Nothing, where's your new friend?" She asked. Alida should be in school by now but I don't know where exactly she would be. I looked around by the entrance and then I spotted her. Looks like she found me too because she looked directly at me and smiled. I smiled back and I went to go say hi.
