Chapter 6: Prome Cont.

Finn was scared, stage fright. She hadn't played the drums in years. Here she was sitting in front of a crowd of the most talented kids in Hollywood and she was going to play for them?

"Tori, I'm scared." Finn said quietly.

"Don't worry I know you're going to be great!" Tori reassured her.

Finn took a deep breath and suddenly the music started. Finn lost her self in the music. She played perfectly, nailing the drum solo. It was exhilarating. Then it started raining. The music stopped.

"Do we keep going?" Cat asked.

Then they all started up again. By the end, they were completely soaked. It was a great feeling to play again. It almost made her forget why she stopped playing. Finn was so happy. She gave Tori a big hug and exited to stage to Beck. Finn ran towards Beck and jumped into his arms. He spun her around, making her squeal.

"You did amazing! I had no idea you were so good!" Beck praised.

"Thanks! I forgot how much I love playing!" Finn said.

"How about you come by after school some time. There are tons of drum sets in the school and we always need a drummer." Beck offered.

Finn smiled and hugged him tight again. Then a slow song came on.

"May I have this dance?" Beck asked.

Finn nodded. They swayed slowly on the dance floor. Finn rested her head on his chest. Towards the end of the song, she looked up at Beck and he looked right back at her. They locked eyes and moved closer towards each other.

"Can I kiss you?" Beck asked.

"Yes please." Finn replied.

Their lips slowly met. Sparks immediately flew. It was magical.

Finn was deeply immersed in the kiss when she was suddenly shoved to the ground. She let out a loud yelp and attempted brace her fall.

"Jade! What the fuck?" Beck yelled.

"You're kissing her? Her? What about me?" Jade yelled back.

Beck helped Finn up off the ground. She was confused.

"We aren't together anymore. What does it matter who I kiss?" Beck replied.

Jade focused an intense glare on Finn. Finn shrunk back into Beck, wanting to get away from Jade.

"Jade, I know it's hard to see the person you were with be with someone else-" Finn started.

"Don't talk to me. Ever." Jade hissed and then stalked away.

Finn looked up to Beck and they both kind of shrugged at each other. 

"I'm sorry about that." Beck said while rubbing the back of his neck.

Finn just shook her head.

"I liked the kiss." She said with a smile.

"So did I." Beck replied.

They stayed at the prom until the end and then helped Tori take all the decor down.

"Finny, you need a ride?" Tori asked.

"I can take her, if you want." Beck replied.

"Yeah, I'd like that." Finn smiled.

Finn and Beck went to his car, and he opened the car door for her, like a gentleman. Finn told him her address and they were off. They talked on the short ride. Beck then parked in her apartment complex's parking lot.

"Is this the place?" Beck asked.

"Yes, thanks for the ride... I'll see you soon?" Finn asked.

"I'll see you." Beck said.

They shared a brief kiss and went on their separate ways. Finn walked into her apartment with a big smile on her face. Her cheeks were blushed and she was giddy.

"...And where have you been?" Josh asked

"With friends." Finn replied curtly.

"Looking like that? I saw you kissing that boy." Josh stated.

"Fuck off, Josh." Finn said boldly.

At that Josh pinned her against the wall by her hands and got close to her face.

"You don't talk to me like that, you hear me? Have some god-damn respect." He said viciously.

"Josh, you're hurting me." Finn cried out.

All he did was tighten his grip, until she cried out again. He then let her go. Finn scurried to her room and locked the door. She held her cat tight in her arms and cried into his fur. She had always known Josh was a bad guy, but she never thought he would hurt her. She feared for herself.
