What if sleeping beauty never wanted the true love kiss?
What if the spindle had given her all she ever wanted; peace?
I mean, it wasn't as if she asked for any of it.
Not the forest, the fairies, the curse, or the evil witch.
Maybe she was just a girl, tired and fed up,
And she knew only touching the spindle could make it all stop.
She probably felt peace when she fell into a sleep like death.
But everyone saw her as a prize to be won; a conquest.
Okay, I may not be right.
But if I were asked to touch the spindle, I might.
