I braced myself for what was to come the moment I laid foot in school the next monday. Students were whispering and pointing at me from all around. I get it, I almost died, but didn't everyone else think they were going to die at one point in life?

I sighed as I carried my feet to my locker which was usually the meeting place for me and my friend, Layla.

"Aurelia!" I heard her loud voice exclaim all the way from the end of the hallway. Layla was the epitome of beautiful. Bright green eyes that can hypnotize you the second she lays them on you-or so I heard from the boys at school. Short brown hair that goes up to her shoulder. Natural rosy pink cheeks and heart shaped lips.  It was always wonder how a girl like her hung out with someone like me. However, I do know the answer to that. We were both loud as hell and hard to get to shut up. Put us together and say goodbye to your pretty little eardrums- or so did my mother say. To be fair, she shouldn't even have a say in this. We both know my tongue is taller than me because of her.

A big smile shone on my face as I exclaimed "Layla!" back. She jumped into my arms and we hugged each other like people do in airports after not seeing each other for a while.

"I can't believe this. I haven't seen you in 2 days. 2 darn days! Curse the weekends!" she hollered.

"No one was stopping you from visiting me," I proclaimed.

Layla shrugged. "I didn't feel like waking up."

"You chose sleep over your very best friend?" I asked feigning hurt while Layla grinned guiltily.

"You know I love you," she cooed.

I rolled my eyes and grabbed the books I need from my locker before I went my separate way to class. I was so ecstatic -note the sarcasm- to start the day with Calculus when the fire alarm started going off everywhere.

Shrieks came from students all around as they pushed each other to the exit. I stayed rooted in my place as I watched the commotion. I shrugged before I finally decided to walk to the exit.

"Students, please evacuate the area. I repeat, students, please evacuate the area," the annoying speakers announced.

"Feels familiar, doesn't it?" I heard a voice whisper in my ear. I turned around on impulse but I found no one.

I forced my legs to continue moving forward and as soon as I reached the exit, I turned around, only to be met with the sight of The Almighty Havoc leaning against one of the lockers with a smirk on his face. I narrowed my eyes at him to which he waved and winked. I stuck out my tongue before I turned back around and left. However, I made sure to glance back to see what he's doing but was met with nothing but empty space.
