As Alec laid almost lifeless in Magnus's arms, he realized he had to gain his composure and do something to help Alec. Magnus lowered Alec to the ground gently and clapped his hands together, then snapping, the blue sparks of fire raging from his hands.
"Alexander, please come back to me..." Magnus whispered as he waved his hands over Alec's cuts, still pouring blood. It wasn't working.
Magnus snapped his fingers once more, producing more magic than the last time, and waved them over Alec's wrists. He waited, but it still did nothing. Alec's wounds were too deep to be healed by his magic.
"DAMNIT!!" Magnus yelled, slamming his fists into the ground. "Please Alec, don't die on me!" He hovered over Alec's body, watching as his life was slowing being drained from his body, quite literally and figuratively. "I need you..." Magnus wept.
...
Jace was walking down the Institute's hallways when suddenly he got a sharp pain shooting through his lower abdomen. He dropped to the floor and screamed in agony, "ALEC!!!" It was his parabatai rune. Jace knew there was something wrong with Alec, but he ignored it and now he could feel his parabatai dying as the pain grew stronger and he cried out Alec's name once more.
The noise around Jace became phased and all that was left was the pain of his parabatai's life slipping away. "A-Alec..."
Clicking heels came running down to the hallway where Jace was lying and they came to a stop as he felt someone touch his shoulder, "Jace, what's happening??" It was Izzy.
"It's..." Jace paused, clutching his parabatai rune, "A-Alec..." He could barely get the words out before he heard Isabelle scream for her brother and sink down against the wall. "We n-need to get t-to A-Alec." Jace said, still holding his rune that connected him to Alec spiritually and physically.
Isabella just nodded and helped Jace off his feet, wrapping his arm around her neck for support.
They walked down the hallway, making their way to Alec. I'm coming for you Alec. We're parabatai until the very end.
...
Magnus snapped his fingers again, this time bandages and two towels appearing in his hands, along with some rubbing alcohol to clean the cuts later on. "I hope this works..." he whispered as he used the two towels to put pressure on Alec's wrists to try and stop the bleeding.
The towels quickly turned red from the blood soaking into them, but Magnus kept adding pressure. "I'm not letting you die on me!" Magnus yelled out of pure frustration. "If I had been here a second later, maybe you would be alive and breathing well...." A single tear slipped down Magnus's face, but he quickly gained composure. "Please come back to me, Alec..."
"M-Magnus..." Alec said in a whisper, barely getting his name out of his mouth before he coughed and blood started to drip from his mouth.
"ALEC!!!!" Magnus screamed, pressing the towels as hard as he could on Alec's wrists. Both towels had become red with his blood and Magnus quickly snapped his hands to replace them with new ones and this time he tied the towels tight around his wrists. "You are NOT dying on me today!"
Magnus quickly put his arm under Alec, lifting him up into his arms like a bride. "We really have to stop doing this." Magnus joked, then realizing it wasn't the right time as he saw Alec's eyes fluttering closed again.
"Stay with me, Alec!" He said as he took one arm to snap his hands and wave them in a circle, a portal forming in front of him. "I'm not letting you die, not today." Magnus stepped through the shimmering gold portal and disappeared, the portal closing behind him.
