The sun was shining through the curtains onto Magnus, who was still resting his head on his boyfriend's chest, sleeping. Catarina walked out to see that Magnus was still on his knees, laying with Alec without hurting him and she couldn't help but notice he probably hasn't moved all night.
She could see how peaceful Magnus looked with Alec and didn't want to wake them, so she tried to tiptoe back to her room when Magnus yelled out, "No...Stay away from me! STAY AWAY FROM ME!!!"
Catarina quickly ran to Magnus and dropped to her knees next to him. She put her hands on his shoulders and started to shake him awake, attempting tp snap him out of his nightmare. "Magnus, wake up!" she yelled as she violently shook Magnus. He didn't budge so this time she yelled louder and instead of shaking him awake, she clapped her hands together and held out her left hand, a bucket of water appearing in it. "MAGNUS BANE. WAKE. UP!!" Catarina yelled and tossed the water on him, careful not to get any on Alec.
This time Magnus jolted awake, his eyes popping open with the sudden flush of water soaking him from head to toe. "What the hell was that for??" he snapped at Catarina, wiping the water from his face.
"I'm sorry, Magnus," Catarina began, making the sarcasm in her voice as clear as water, "but I wasn't going to listen to my friend screaming in their sleep!!" her voice rose with anger and concern.
Magnus stared at Catarina, a loss for words. "Y-You heard t-th-that..." Magnus stuttered, which he never does, shocking Catarina. Before she could get a word in, he pitched in with laughter, "I can't believe you fell for that! Like I, Magnus Bane, would ever scream in their sleep." He couldn't stop laughing, which made Catarina boil.
"Are you kidding me, Magnus??" she yelled at him, which apparently was something she had to do often. "You think that's funny?! You out of all people should know how I feel about that." Magnus stopped laughing, realizing what he had done, unable to make a peep. "If or when Alec wakes up, I want you out of here, Bane." Catarina walked back to her room, keeping the last word, and slamming her door shut.
He couldn't help but feel guilt for what he had done. I'm sorry, my dear Catarina. I can't burden you more than I already have...
...
Jace had ran out of Magnus's apartment without realizing where he was going. He had kept running until his legs couldn't take it anymore and found himself going in a circle, winding up at Magnus's place once more. He stood outside the building for what seemed like hours. I can't do this... Jace thought to himself, unable to go inside.
To his surprise, his feet started to move and he walked up the stairs to Magnus's apartment. He stopped at the large french doors and paused to breathe. Come on Jace, you CAN do this. Just open the door and get it over with. Own up to your actions.
He managed to move his hands onto the door handles, but they shook, unable to steady. He pushed both doors open wide, dropping his hands to his side as he walked in and saw the living room. He walked up to the shattered vase shards and stopped. He looked down to see a blood pool, bigger than Jace could have imagined. "By the Angel...Izzy!" A tear slid down Jace's face as he kneeled down beside the pool of blood, "I'm so sorry, Isabelle! I'm so sorry..." he cried.
As Jace was kneeling on the ground, his phone began to ring and to his surprise, it was a number he did not know. Jace picked up the call and held the phone to his ear, "Hello? Who is this?" he asked.
On the other end of the phone, a voice came through, "Jace, it's Simon. I know you probably don't want to hear from me, but I took Izzy to the hospital and I think you should be here. Please Jace." Simon begged.
Jace didn't even get a word out before the phone beeped and Simon had hung up. Jace quickly shoved his phone back in his pocket and started his course for the hospital, running back out the door just as he had done before.
