"Justin, I said left. Not right."

"You said right."

"I said left."

"Oh my god," he threw his hands in the air, both of them coming back and slapping against the steering wheel. "I've never been this lost in my life."

He pulled over, stopping the car completely. He took the map out of my hands, scanning it over for a good ten seconds.

"Yep. We're fucked."

I threw my head back against the headrest, letting out a long breath. "Switch spots with me."

He gave me an incredulous look. "Hell no."

I rolled my eyes. "I can do it, it's not like-"

"I am not letting you drive in New York Jess. Especially not when you've never been out of Hampstead in your life."

I narrowed my eyes at him. "Switch spots with me."

He stared at me for what felt like forever before unbuckling his seatbelt and opening his door, jogging to the other side. Opening my door, he grabbed my thigh. "If you get scared just pull over and I'll take over, okay?"

I almost laughed. "I think I'll survive."

I walked past him and to the drivers side, gripping the steering wheel with both hands. "Do you know what street it's on?"

"Uh," he looked at a piece of paper he had the written information on. "42nd."

I turned the car off of where we were, getting into a lane. I was so tired. It was crazy. I don't know how long Justin expects us to stay here, or if he expects us to go back to Maine or straight home. I didn't want to go home, though. Now that I've left and I've experienced something else, even if it wasn't all that great, it was different. And I loved the independence I felt when I wasn't where I've been my entire life.

I read the street signs carefully and took a turn, letting out a sigh. "Can you please tell me where we're going tonight?"

He paused for a minute. "This took so much time to plan out and organize. You have no idea. I really want you to be happy and surprised."

I didn't say anything for a minute. "So that's a no?"

He laughed, which made me smile big. "It's a no."

I took another turn, onto 42nd street, to be exact. "Is that our hotel right there?"

He looked at the map, then the building, then back to the map, then back to the building. "Um, yeah. It is."

I smiled in triumph and parked in the parking lot. He needs to stop underestimating me sometimes.

I walked around to the other side of the car, opening his door. Trying to hide my smile, I ushered him out like the gentleman I was.

"Stop. You're making me feel like a girl."

I couldn't help it any longer. I laughed until I felt like I couldn't breathe. Justin just stared at me with an annoyed look, but I could tell he was trying not to smirk.

Finally nudging me with his shoulder, he laughed a little too. "I missed your laugh."

Well that shut me up.

I smiled a little bit, the air suddenly becoming serious. "Sorry," he chuckled uncomfortably. "I ruined it."

I smiled for what felt like the billionth time today. "Let's get our room."

He nodded, grabbing both of our bags from the trunk. "Isn't it nice to finally be, I don't know, not in a car?"

I groaned dramatically loud. "Don't remind me."

"Bieber," he said once we reached the front desk.

The lady gave us both a good look over, which I didn't really appreciate. She handed Justin the key, which he tried holding in his mouth because of the fact his hands were full with our bags. "Justin, let me take someth-"

"I got it," he muttered through his clenched teeth around the card, making me giggle.

I snatched the card out of his mouth, pressing the elevator button. Looking over my shoulder, I saw Justin with an amused look on his face. "No, you don't."

He kicked the back of my leg with his foot as he strolled the two suitcases into the elevator, and I laughed, once again.

Maybe it was because we were both in a good mood, or maybe it was because we were alone somewhere new. Whatever it was, I don't think I have laughed, or smiled for that matter, so many times in one day. I knew it was because of Justin. It's not like I was this happy before he came into my life. I was just amazed at how my quickly he could make my mood change.

"You ready for tonight?"

Snapping out of it, I nodded as he opened the door to our room, dragging everything with him.

It was quiet for a minute while we tried to get settled in the room. "I really think you'll love it."

I turned my head to the side, some strands of hair falling along my cheek. "You think so?"

He nodded.

"You know what would make tonight even better?"

He rolled his eyes. "Still not telling you Jess."

I slouched my shoulders; groaning. "You're annoying."

He laughed, giving me a quick kiss on the lips. "Tell me something I don't know."
