Chapter 5. Different

(Todoroki's POV)

After the sports festival......

The sports festival wasn't very Exciting for me. The world just seemed brighter than it used to be, but everything at home was still horrific.

My father still abused me, and occasionally he'd hit Fuyumi. My other brothers were only at home for a couple hours a day, not long.

I did get a job at a restaurant. It was nice. I made around five eight dollars and 50 cents an hour. (Sorry I don't understand stuff like how much money you make....)

It was a Friday so after school I went to the restaurant. I was a waiter. The place wasn't very far from my house and it had little costumers,"Hey Todoroki, can you stay an extra hour today, I'll pay you for it!"

My dad sure would be mad at me but I needed the money and extra time away from training,"Yeah, sure I'll do it!" I went to the back room and got dressed. I looked out the window and there were already some people outside, today would be a busy day.

(Midoriya's POV)

On my way home from school I see Todoroki, he looks like something's bothering him. And he isn't going his usual way to his house.

Don't think I'm a stalker I just see him go a different way home.

I get to the apartment when I walk in my mom is standing at the door," Oh hi Izuku! I'm just getting ready to go to the school. Do you want to come with me?" I had lots of homework so I politely denied and went to my room.

Ever since the festival Todoroki has been acting differently around me. I don't know what it is but I'm still worried about him.

My homework was easy just middle school review.

When Inko gets home.......

"Hey Izuku! I was at the store and I saw a restaurant, it looked kinda nice! You should go there this weekend!" Maybe I will. It did sound nice to get away from all this school stuff.

I looked at the clock and decided it would be best to go to bed. I change into my sleeping clothes and before I knew it I was asleep.

In Midoriya's dream

I was walking down a street when I see Todoroki lying on the ground. I run up to him and see if he's okay,"Todoroki! Todoroki! Wake up!" His face was bruised and he was bleeding. I try to pick him up but then I see someone walk around the corner, he looked like the hero Endevor but I wasn't sure who it was,"Mr! Can you please help my friend!" He looks down and laughs,"Why should I help someone who can't even help themselves?" He turns around and starts to walk away,"But sir! He needs medical attention!" The man doesn't stop walking, and eventually I can't see him anymore. I look down at Todoroki's face and he was still bleeding through his mouth and nose. Who did this to him? That was all I could think about. I pick him up but then he looks at me I decide to put our training into action,"Don't worry Todoroki! Everything it going to be okay, just hang on." His eyes were about to shut when he said something,"T-That man, h-he did t-this to m-me..."

I wake up in a cold sweat. I realize that it was just a dream, but it felt to real.

My alarm clock says that it's 4:26 in the morning. I went to my kitchen and grabbed some water. When I look at my reflection in the mirror my eyes look red. I went to the bathroom and it looks like I've been.... crying? Why?

I decide to shrug it off and try to go back to bed. No use. I walk over to my dest and start to write down all the class's quirks and draw their hero costumes.

I get to Todoroki and I knock my water that I set on my desk over. I quickly pick up my notebook and clean up the mess with some spare napkins I had laying around.

After that I tried to go to sleep again and this time it worked.

(Todoroki's POV)

"SHOTO~" I wake up from my slumber to hear my dad,"Sorry dad, not today! I've got to work at the restaurant today! Oh and tomorrow!" I grab some of my normal clothes and start my way to work.

Once o get there I see that someone was already inside even though the store wasn't open. I open the door and see that I haven't ever seen the man.

"Ummm, excuse me but we aren't open yet." The man looks at me his face was pale and he had black hair," I apologize but I must speak to your boss." His voice was deep and crisp.

I didn't know what to do because I came early,"Sorry but my boss isn't here, you may talk to me though. Or just send a message." His eyes were brown and he was wearing a cat shirt. His hair was down to his shoulders and his facial expression was calm," No thank you, I'll just come back later." He walks passed me and he drops a piece of paper,"Oh, Mr. you dropped s-"

He was gone. I looked outside and he disappeared. I decided to open the note and it said, you should think about adding something for consumer entertainment.

I'm betting my face looked confused. I mean like, he was all dark and scary and just drops a piece of paper that states that he wants us to help our customers more? That was weird.

I decided to just get ready for another day at work.

(Midoriya's POV)

I wake up and look at my clock, it was 12:49. I got to sleep in. I walk out to my kitchen and see mom making pancakes,"Well you slept in today!" I sit down and the table and she sets a plate of them down in front of me.

I grab the butter and start to eat, they were delicious!

After breakfast I did some chores and worked on school stuff, before I knew it, it was around 6:00!

I went to my room to work on my hero analysis notebook. I forgot I was on Todoroki when I went to bed last night. I forgot what his hero suit looked like so I skipped him.

I was on Kacchan when I finally remembered what Todoroki's suit looked like.

I finished the final components and went to bed. I couldn't get to bed but when I did, I looked at my notebook and remembered, Todoroki.
