(Todoroki POV)
Apparently there is going to be a sports festival. I hate stuff like this, it just gives my dad room to brag about his 'greatest creation' he would say. It just makes me mad that he can't treat anyone with respect, or at least treat them like human beings.

I've heard that the festival was different every year but one thing was always the same. It always started with an obstacle course. Luckily I'm very good at stuff like that.

On my way to class I see Midoriya, he either always has a happy or worried look on his face, today he looks worried,"Hey Midoriya, is something wrong?","No, I'm fine, thanks for asking though!" He starts to walk faster to class. And I follow but keep going the same speed as I usually do.

"Mr. Aizawa! When is the sports festival going to be?" Kaminari asked the question, but it was rhetorical," Do you not pay attention to the new Denki, it is always held on the 23rd."(Sorry if that isn't correct I couldn't find the right answer!)

All day we mostly did written work. We did get to work in partners though, but they were assigned.

List Of Partners
Momo and Mina
Iida and Uraraka
Denki and Jiro
Ayoma and Sato
Kirishima and Mineta
Ojiro and Hagakure
Bakugo and Shoji
Sero and Tokoyami
Asui and Kouda
Me and Midoriya

So I was working with Midoriya. That wouldn't be too bad. He at least works instead of just sitting around.

(Midoriya POV)

The partners we pretty bad for most of the class, but I got to work with Todoroki so it wasn't to bad. We got a paper that was about the sports festival.

Apparently they wanted our opinions on it,"So umm Todoroki, I think the sports festival is a great way to get better and see how you line up compared to the school. And you get to-","Oh and this is an assignment everyone in the school is getting so we can't mention anything about the Hero course."

Mr. Aizawa interrupted what I was going to say but I think it was for the better. I was going to say something to do with how it would give us heros in training a place to show off our quirks.

"I agree with what you said the first time. But I think that it's a waist of time. I mean we're showing off our quirks to the world and that might not be the best thing for us. We do still need to take other exams including other schools." Todoroki had a point.

On the paper there was a side for liking the sports festival and disliking it. We filled out both. We both finish within ten minutes of receiving the paper. We work well together.

After school I saw Todoroki walking to one of the ramen shops. I decide to try and talk to him,"Hey Todoroki! Do you mind if I join you?!" I walk up next to Todoroki and look at him. He looks sad for some reason,"Hey is everything alright? You look sad.","Oh, hi Midoriya. I didn't see you there. Yah, I'm fine thanks for asking. Anyway I've got to go."

He starts to speed up his pace and I just leave him. Something isn't right with him.

(Todoroki POV)

I decided to go to the ramen shop after school to get my father off my mind. All I've been able to think about today was him because of the festival coming up.

On my way to the shop Midoriya shows up. I wasn't in the mood to talk so I just ignored him. But he wouldn't leave me alone,"Oh, hi Midoriya. I didn't see you there. Yah, I'm fine thanks for asking. Anyway I've got to go." Then I just started to walk faster. I feel bad doing this but I just need time to think.

I'm just going to go around in a circle so I can make it back to the shop. I'm not giving up on that ramen. It took me about five more minutes than normal to get to the shop. Once I get there I order what I usually get. Then I just start eating like there is no tomorrow. But the sports festival is tomorrow.

The next day. . .

(Midoriya's POV)

When I wake up my mom is just super nervous about me and the festival. There were going to be lots of kids with strong quirks that probably want to get the best of our class.

When I get to school I meet up with Iida and Uraraka,"Hey guy! Ready for the Festival?!" Uraraka was coming back from getting breakfast when she halfway screamed across the cafeteria,"Umm, to be honest no. I can't even control my quirk and they're expecting me to try and face off against all the first years!" My heart was already racing.

I hoped I could've created some plan last night but I didn't know what we were going to encounter. Hopefully nothing too crazy.

Then I realize I could've asked the upperclassmen! I felt so stupid.

"Hey, it's fine Deku! No problem, you got this!" Uraraka is super supportive when it comes to stuff like this. The bell is about to ring so we start to head to class.

"As you probably already know today is the sports festival. . . yay. . . So go change into your gym clothes and line up." Mr. Aizawa didn't really sound happy, but he normally doesn't so it isn't a big deal.

Todoroki walked passed me and he just looked at me and said something I wasn't expecting,"Sorry" I never got the chance to ask him why he said it because he just walked away.

I'm betting my face looked confused because Uraraka asked me if everything was alright, I said yes.

Mr. Aizawa led us through the hallways and to these doors which I was guessing were the doors to the stadium,"Ok, this is our stop. Welcome to your first ever UA sports festival."
