"MATT NO!" A woman runs in front of Matt. Gun Shots

Matt Arctic jerks awake to realize that he just fell asleep while reading a letter from his sister. He looks around his penthouse and sees that all he heard in his dream was the honking of horns from the streets below. He walks into the kitchen to see his wife, Sarah, making breakfast.

"Well hello, sleeping beauty. How was the nap?" she said laughing to herself.

"You could have at least woken me up, my neck is killing me," said Matt cracking his neck.

"Eh whatever you big baby. I thought you would need the sleep anyway for all the hours you've been working. Is that another letter from your mom?"

He looks down in his hand to see the letter. "Actually no, this time its Liv and I didn't get to read it yet because I fell asleep. I'll just read it later, she's probably just asking for money like usual."

His watch goes off as he threw the letter on the table. "Oh, no work again.."

"At least eat the pancakes I just made. I think I finally perfected them." Sarah said she lifted a plate full of extremely burnt pancakes.

"Um hard pass, but they look great... How about you do a little more perfecting while I'm gone." He said as the elevator shut.

"What does he mean more perfecting--" she said as she tasted her pancake and immediately spit it out. "Oh God no. Maybe cooking isn't for me." laughing to herself.

Matt went downstairs to the garage and looked at his car. "Ehh the car is too much work I'll just teleport," he said while taking out his teleporter and tped away. Poof, he was gone.

When Matt teleported he landed in a busy street in front of an average-looking telephone company. "Ah here we are," he said while walking in.

"Hello and welcome, what can we help you with?" said the receptionist.

"Just need make a call, that's all thank you," he replied, as he walked over to the phonebooth punching in a code. Just as he punched in his Code a camera came over and accepted his ID. Once he was accepted the phone booth lifted and he walked in.

As he entered, he looked around to see people on their phones, talking, eating and working. This place was the EDG, Elite Defense Group, Headquarters.

Everyone in here these days has powers of some sort or strengths in certain levels of the agency. But Matt, he was powerless. It was rare to be accepted in the agency with no powers unless you were top class intelligent or a strategist. Although Matt would have made it in the agency, his mother is Katherine Arctic, director of the EDG. No one knows this because his cover would be blown and he would be a target. But no matter what, Matt has made his way up the ranks in the EDG, and he now has his own team of agents and on the board of leaders.

As Matt makes his way through the training rooms he notices a fight in one of the practice arena. "Oh, I can only guess who that is." In the arena, there's a muscular guy with brown hair and a pair of shades. The guy grabs his opponent and flips him in the air and throws him to the ground.

"Nice fight Carter, but a little rusty on flipping that other guy," said Matt while slow clapping. Carter walks up to him and punches him in the arm. "I'd show you I could do it better on you but the chief wants you."

"Yeah, I got the notification on the watch. What's this emergency about anyway?"

"You'll see," Carter said while smirking.
