"Can I kiss you?"
Lucas stared at him, the expression in his eyes shifting as soon as Ethan said those words, but his mouth didn't budge. He didn't say yes, but he also didn't tell Ethan to go die or something like that.
And for some unknown reason, that was all the motivation Ethan needed to do it.
He went ahead and kissed Lucas. The kiss was soft and careful, and it only lasted for a moment, but it felt like it was the right thing to do it and so he did it.
Hamilton almost immediately pulled away and shouted, "What the fuck, Emmerson?"
Ethan wanted to say something to apologize to Lucas who seemed to be incredibly angry but before he could do that Hamilton slammed his lips against his and pushed him against the wall of the locker room.
What the fuck? was the first thought that came to Ethan's head.
When Lucas finally pulled away, Ethan could feel himself start to blush but he didn't want to at all. He wanted to think about the situation properly, and possibly leave before anything could happen.
"We can't speak about this," said Lucas immediately without letting Ethan say anything yet. "This could ruin my chances of getting into the colleges I want to."
That much was true since, despite popular belief, teammates were still unaccepting of gay or bisexual teammates, and Ethan thought the same thing as Lucas. He didn't want to ruin
But he wanted to talk about what happened because he was sure as hell that it wasn't an accident.
Before he could get out a proper response, Lucas put his hand on Ethan's thigh and tightened his grip around it. The look in his eyes was hopeful, or something like that at least, and Ethan knew what was bound to happen again.
They both leaned in again and the second kiss lasted for far too long to be called just an accident, but seeing how bothered Lucas was, he didn't want to point that out. It would be useless anyways.
After some time Ethan finally pulled away. "What are we doing?"
There was a strange expression on Lucas' face and Ethan wasn't sure what to make of it. He didn't want to make any assumptions, but Hamilton sure didn't seem like he was about to beat him up or anything of the sort.
He didn't seem bothered at all.
What do we do now? Ethan wanted to ask, but he knew that he probably wouldn't get a tangible answer from Lucas anytime soon.
And it wasn't like Ethan's mind was peaceful either. On the contrary, it was an active battlefield, debating whether he should feel disgusted and guilty or whether to just do it again.
He didn't like those kinds of feelings, but he didn't know how to stop them either, so he just let them wash all over him.
It wasn't as if he would have a problem with being gay, he just never thought of himself like that. He had only been with girls, and he wasn't sure if kissing Lucas was just because they got so close or because of something else.
Maybe it was because all his negative feelings were forced to become positive all at once that it was overwhelming and that was why he decided to kiss him.
He decided to ignore the feelings for now and kiss Lucas again—to make the best of a strange situation—this time cupping his face with his hands and slipping in his tongue tentatively.
He wasn't sure how Lucas would take it, but when the latter put put his hand on the back of Ethan's head and intertwined his fingers with his hair, Ethan understood that they both wanted this.
They both wanted this quite a lot.
Without thinking about it much, Ethan slipped off his shirt with surprising ease and Lucas followed suit, except that it took him a bit more time to get it off properly. His head got stuck in the collar for a second which made Ethan laugh but when he got it off, they were back to kissing.
They shifted positions so Lucas was towering over him and Ethan was laid down on his back.
When Lucas kissed him, he bit his lip and lingered there for a couple of moments before pulling away. It hurt Ethan just a bit, but the pleasure that he got from it was far greater than that and so he decided to do the same to Lucas.
He effortlessly picked himself up into a seating position and then pressed Lucas down so he was on his back and began kissing his neck. Slowly at first, but then with a lot more intensity with every kiss.
He didn't know what he was doing, but he knew that he was doing something right judging by all the right sounds that were coming out of Hamilton's mouth.
He ran his hand over Lucas' chest and gently sucked on his neck and then moved back to his mouth.
He was towering over him now, and there was something extremely satisfying about this position. He wanted to go further, but wasn't sure what exactly that entailed. He knew the logistics of gay sex, sure, but wasn't sure of the logistics of it all.
Still, he knew that they would manage to figure something out if they tried hard enough.
Ethan also wasn't sure how Lucas would take the entire idea, so he knew that it wouldn't happen now. However, that didn't mean that they couldn't continue making out.
He pressed his lips against Lucas' again and slipped his tongue inside, savoring every moment that passed.
Suddenly, they heard footsteps coming from the hallway and instinctively backed off each other, each of them on respective sides of the bench, still looking at each other.
The boner in Ethan's pants was bordering on painful, but he knew that they certainly wouldn't get any further today. Still, they could probably finish what they started some other time.
"I think we should get going," Lucas muttered, but despite the neutrality in his voice, there was a mischievous grin on his face.
Ethan let out a light chuckle and nodded. "Yeah, we should go."
