School this week wasn't too bad. I've sat with Mallorie everyday for lunch and I think she may be considered one of my friends now. I don't know what to do though I've had friends before but I had known them since kindergarten. I've only known Mallorie for a week. Maybe I could invite her over or study or something. I'm good with making friends since I've never had to.
Now it's Friday afternoon and we're moving my furniture into my room today. I got a new bed, decorations and bookshelf. It looks pretty good if I do say so myself. We did it all by ourselves, my mom and I.
"Winter, could you come down there's someone here for you"
I take a look at my room one last time before I realize I haven't told anyone where I lived. Except for Cain.
I make my way down the stairs and wonder why he would be here. I haven't really had a 'get to know you' conversation. And why would he think it's okay to randomly stop by my house. This town is strange.
I'm about to go to the front door when I see Cain and my mom in the living room. And looking through one of my mom's scrapbooks.
"Mom?"
"Oh hi honey I was just showing Cain here some pictures of you from last year." She says and then turns to Cain, "She won first at her last show. She's always been a great dancer"
Cain smirks at this and asks my mom if he can speak with me alone. My mom, being the great parent she is, leaves me alone with a boy she just met. Mother of the year right there.
"So, hi?" I begin
"Oh yeah, hi." He says "I just came over to invite you to a party. To, like, get to know people and stuff"
"What type of party?"
"Just a high school party. Mallorie will be there. I've seen you with her around school."
"Will there be alcohol? I can't be submitted to an unsafe environment."
"For the love of all things great, Winter just say yes" my mother shouts from the next room over.
"I knew she was listening. But yeah I can come, where and when?"
"It's tomorrow, and I can just pick you up. Around eightish?"
"Okay, I guess I'll go"
"Great, we'll see you tomorrow."
He walks out the living room to the door, waves and then exits. I haven't been to a party since the last night I was in Colorado. That party was one I would love to forget, and I wish I had just said no to Cain right there. Well, I guess there's no going back now.

It's been about three hours since Cain left and I cannot seem to pick out an outfit for the party tomorrow. I'll admit I do care a little bit about what I look like for this. The guy is cute and I do want to get to know more people because my mom seems to not be backing down about leaving back to Colorado.
I need professional help so I call Natasha. She's always known what to put on me for when we go out, or or when we would go out. I still can't believe that we won't be able to do that anymore, all together.
"Hey what's up?" Natasha asks
"Well this guy from my new school invited me to a party. I need help from my fashion guru."
"Look no further my dear. Do you still have all your clothes from your closet"
"Yes you know I can't throw anything away"
"Good lets get to work."
We end up settling on my turquoise skirt with a black long sleeve. I also go with Natasha's decision to wear long necklaces rather than a scarf, and flats. Since I don't know what kind of party this is I think it's a safe bet.
I hope that this party goes better than my going away one. I remember it all too well. I remember Mika, I remember Natasha, and worst of all I remember Joshua.
