(Y/N's p.o.v.)
I yawned as I woke up the next morning, stretching. The smell of pancakes and bacon was in the air. I got up and went to the kitchen.
" Morning, honey."
" Sup, dad."
I yawned and took a seat at the table.
" I've got a meeting later today, so don't wait up for me."
" Okay. Just be careful."
He nodded with a simple smile and the day went on. At school, I saw a poster for a dance the school was having. It would be happening next week and it was masquerade themed.
It would seem like fun to go to, if I had someone to go with, could afford a dress, and I wasn't so claustrophobic. I went to my class as usual and overheard all the girl and some of the boys talking about the dance that was coming. It could be fun if I did, by some miracle, found someone to go with me and I found a dress to wear. At the end of the school day, I went home as usual and upon walking in the house, shutting and locking the door, I sat on the couch.
" Welcome home, my dear."
" Hi, Alastor." I smiled up at the red, radio demon.
" How was school?"
" Pretty boring."
He took a seat next to me, keeping the smile I had grown to love.
" Anything interesting happen today?"
" Nah, everyone just talking about a dance that's coming up."
" A dance? When is it? Are you going?"
I shook my head.
" No."
" Whyever not?! It would be fun."
" Because I don't do well with big crowds, I don't have enough money for a dress and mask, and I don't have anyone to go with."
He raised an eyebrow.
" A mask?"
" It's masquerade themed."
" Ah! Well, my dear, all you have to do is ask me for assistance. I can get you a dress and mask. Not only that, but I can go with you."
I turned to him quickly and saw him smiling at me, warmly.
" Alastor, you don't have to do that. You've already done so much."
" My dear, this will be good for you and me. A break from all the looking out for danger and just having fun for one night. What's the harm?"
I thought about this for a second, I suppose if Alastor was with me all night it would be okay.
" Okay, but as long as you promise to not leave me."
" My dear, that is the last thing you have to worry about."
" Then if you're sure...I guess I could go."
He clapped his hands, his smile seeming to grow.
" Marvelous!"
I giggled and hugged him tight. He froze slightly, but hugged back within seconds. I smiled and hang onto him.
" What's the matter, dear?"
" Nothing. Just happy you're here."
" Happy to be here."
We let each other go and we spent the rest of the night talking, watching tv, telling each other bad dad jokes, and just having fun. I fell asleep, holding onto him tightly.

(Alastor's p.o.v.)
I smiled down at her, kissing her head and running my hand through her hair. I couldn't deny that she was quite charming to me now. Turning to the clock, I was that the time was 4:57. Not really that late and her dad wouldn't be home for a while. I gently and carefully got up, making sure not to wake her. Taking off my jacket and rolling up my sleeves, I decided that while she slept I would my mother's famous jambalaya for supper tonight. Entering the kitchen, I paused as I saw a picture hanging on the wall. It was (Y/N) and her parents. In the picture they seemed to be at a park, all of them smiling so brightly. I sighed and looked back at (Y/N) as she slept so peacefully on the couch. I had lost my mother when I was young as well, I suppose that's something I can relate to her on as well. I gathered up what was needed and began cooking, there was something that they didn't have that I needed but I would just have to make do. After a while of cooking, I finished and walked into the living room to wake her up. I smiled at the cute scene before me. She was curled up in a ball, her hair fanned out and covering the pillow. She held her arms and hands close to her chest as lip, quiet breathes came from her lips. Placing my hand on her shoulder, I gently shaked. She shifted, her eyes opening up.
" Alastor? What is it?" She mumbled softly.
" Dinner is ready, my dear."
She sat up, rubbing her eyes. She sniffed the air and her eyes seemed to glow.
" Woah. Smells good."
My smile grew as we walked to the kitchen.
" What did you make, Alastor?"
" My mother's famous Jambalaya. There was a few things you and your father didn't have, but I did what I could."
" Alastor, it smells great."
I chuckled and hugged her from behind.
" Thank you, my dear."
She smiled up at me as I let go. After we both got a bowl, we ate at the kitchen table.
" How do you like it, my dear?"
" Alastor, I will pay you to come back and make this again."
I couldn't help but laugh.
" I'm glad it has your approval."
After dinner, we both talked and laughed for a while.
" Could you spend the night, Alastor? My dad has a meeting today and I don't know when he'll be back."
I paused for a moment. It probably wouldn't be the smartest thing to do.
" Please, Alastor." She said, giving me puppy eyes.
I sighed.

How could I say no to that?!

" Very well."
She hugged me tightly, nuzzling my neck.
" Thank you!"
My smile grew again and I held her tight. My arms wrapped around her fragile frame.
" My pleasure."
We stayed like that for a while, just holding each other. We pulled away from each other and took a seat on the couch. We watched a few movies and when I looked down at her, she was sound asleep. I got up and took her to her room. I laid her down and took a seat beside her.
" Goodnight, my dear."
