I turned around in the elevator and peered out at the lobby. The usual business was taking place and I sighed in relief that Tarnish didn’t send anybody after us. I have a bad feeling about him and as much as I want my feeling to be wrong I know it’s not. I motioned for the boys to follow me and they did. By the time we made it halfway across the lobby the elevator dinged behind us and I turned around slightly to see who was getting off. I noticed the same type of men that was holding the boys at gunpoint exiting the elevator and into the lobby.

“Move faster.” I whispered harshly at the boys as they all looked at me with fear in their eyes. The familiar sound of boots on tile made me quicken my pace even more. I pulled my gun out from my jeans and slowed just enough so that the boys were all in front of me.

“Payton Browning we order you to stop!” A deep voice hollered from behind me, but I kept moving. The boys made it through the doors and just as I was about to push my way through I turned around to look at the oncoming swat team of agents.

“No can do, Sir.” I said mockingly before slipping through the door and towards the boys. “Run!” I yelled at them as I picked up my pace and began running down the street towards a destination unknown. I could hear the footsteps of the boys behind me as I took several turns and alleyways until stopping to catch our breaths in a particular alleyway.

“Payton, are you going to tell us what the hell is going on?” Harry huffed harshly as he was slightly out of breath. I leaned against the cool brick while running a hand over my face.

“There is something not right going on there and I knew we weren’t safe there so I had to get us out.” I said while shrugging my shoulders. Harry put his hands on top of his head while raising his eyebrows at me as if to elaborate. “I’ve known Tarnish for a long time and even when it was actually him, he was acting weird. There’s something going on there and they’re after us.” I explained as much as I could figure out before pushing myself off the brick and pulling my eyebrows together in thought.

“Well what are we supposed to do then?” Liam asked quietly as he looked at me curiously.

“We have to find somewhere to hide out, we can’t trust anyone.” I told them seriously while they all nodded in understanding. Louis frowned my way and I raised an eyebrow at him. He let out a sigh before running a hand over his face.

“So basically we’re criminals now?” Louis said while I frowned myself. It was highly a possibility if Tarnish wants us so badly he will make us out to be criminals.

“Well I guess so.” I said before looking over all their faces. I heard the familiar sound of a siren making my eyes widen in fear at how close it sounded. I looked around to see if there was anything that could aid in this situation. The fire escape sat a bit farther into the alleyway and I noticed it went all the way to the roof. I looked back at the boys and they must of saw where I was looking because they all nodded in understanding. “Hurry.” I told them as we all jogged over to the ladder. I let each of them go first before I began climbing up the rickety ladder. When we came to the first landing I could see the familiar blue and red lights approaching and I motioned for them all to duck down. The cop car went racing past the alleyway and I let out a breath of air before motioning them up. We climbed another four stories before reaching the roof. I landed on the roof with a quite unpleasant fall as the boys all looked at me expectantly.
