Resistance

My head felt weird. His voice was echoing in my ears. I didn't see his face, but I didn't need to.

I knew exactly who it was. His presence alone was enough to get me shivering.

I look up at his face, but that was completely useless since it was too dark for me to see his face. He just waited for an answer and looked down at me. I wanted to answer him, but as soon as I tried a knot was formed in my throat.

I couldn't speak, I just could look at him and shake.
"So?" I heard his calm voice. It somehow felt comforting to me, but on the other hand, I thought he would kill me if I say one wrong word.

I bit my lip before answering a:
"I don't... I don't know", it was more of a breathless whisper, to be honest.

"Stand up." I only noticed that I was still lying on the floor as he said that. His presence alone consumed every thought from me.

I knew he was deadly and I should run now, but I somehow didn't. I stood up, but didn't move away from him. I don't know if I was too afraid to do anything else. I don't know what I feel either.

Just a few minutes ago everything seemed pointless. Then I chose I still wanted to live and now I stand in front of the guy that will probably suck the life out of me.

My whole body was shivering. My vision started to blur. I bit my lip even harder. I couldn't lose consciousness now. He would kill me if I'm not careful.

A silence filled the room around me. A silence that would break me if it wasn't broken first.

"So... Uhm... Y-You're a vampire?", right after I said that I wanted to slap myself in the face.

Yes, I had finally enough confidence to say one sentence and I said that?

I couldn't quite see his reaction, but I heard the light chuckle that came out of his throat. A shiver ran down my spine. It wasn't a cute giggle or something, it was more of a thing you heard in movies right before they rip you into pieces.

I was frozen in place. Even though my thoughts were running wild, I couldn't move a muscle since I heard that noise. The silence came back for a few seconds, then he reached out to grab me. My whole body was working on instinct. I was always tense when he was around, but right now I was sure he'll kill me.

Despite my clear discomfort, an instinct started to work and take over.

One instinct.
The one that wants to live.

I dodge his hand, with a speed I didn't even know I had. Then I run to the door, outside maybe someone would rescue me. After just three or four steps I made, I felt a strong hand grabbing my shoulder.

The vampire grabbed me and turned me around so I was facing him again. His face was turned toward me, and the door behind me. Because of a few lights the moon gave in through the windows next to the door, I could finally see some of the handsome features that lured me into this mess.

I got lost in his eyes for a few seconds.
They were sharp and gold.

Then he made another movement that woke me up from this trance. I remembered what I was trying to do.

Escape. Getting out. Live.

His grip on my shoulder and arm was very firmly. I knew I couldn't struggle my way out of that. So instincts again, but this time my instinct made a horrible choice.

I raised my knee fast and hard between his legs until I felt how I hit something as hard as I could. The blonde vampire let go of me immediately, his eyes were widened so much I thought they would pop out.

I didn't let the chance slip and continued running to the door. I could hear the hurt man, that probably cries about his jewels, yell something really loud behind me. I wasn't listening. Not having time, I didn't bother to look behind me either. If I would look behind me now, I would slow down and that was way too risky.

My feet tripped again but somehow I caught myself before hitting the ground. The small triumph was short-lived as an extreme pain started spreading in my ankle.

Yet, I didn't have time to worry about that.

I push the door open, my eyes shut because I was pretty focused on running and not giving in to the pain. I ran outside but felt how I ran in something. Somebody.

I opened my eyes a little and took a step back, or at least I wanted to. Then I felt two strong arms holding me in place. When I looked up I saw the blonde man I left behind me a few seconds ago.

How could he be here?
How could he come outside before me?

I was confused and started to think that if he wasn't gonna kill me at first, after the kick he surely will do it now.
"What have you done right now?" His voice wasn't loud, but it was shivering with anger. His grip was hurtful, and if he doesn't loosen it in a few seconds he will snap my bones for sure.

I opened my mouth a little, but not a little sound came out. I didn't know what to say.

"WHAT DID YOU DO RIGHT NOW, YOU STUPID VERMIN?!"
A gasp escaped my throat at the sharp pain stinging pain radiating from my cheek. My face was tilted to the side and my hand instinctively reaches the burning feeling on my cheek. My other arm still hurt because of his strong grip.

Everything hurt.

"You're really a son of a bitch." I barked at him, my voice shivering.

Yes, I was afraid of him, very afraid to be honest.

I tried to punch him again, my eyes were filled with determination. And some tears.

If he's gonna kill me, either way, I at least want to punch back.

He just grabbed my wrist and added pressure. I could feel how my bones were about to break and let out a whimper.
"Apologize. Maybe I will make it quicker then." I wanted to apologize. I wanted him to stop hurting me, but I won't give him that.

Just because I'm a stubborn idiot, I mean my fate is written by now anyways.

"Ah? Are you too afraid of me now?" - "Not really." Little did he know that I lied.
"Are you sure about that? I can feel your pulse and even your smell screams fear right now."
He leaned in. His ear was right beside my ear. He whispered the words so calm and seductive as nothing would have happened. The pain in my bones told me otherwise.

Maybe he only calmed himself so the people wouldn't wonder what happen inside here? Hell, I don't know. Everything I knew was that I got calmer when he did. Or more it made me nervous and calm at the same time.

We didn't move for a few seconds. I didn't whimper anymore, his grip got softer and didn't hurt me anymore. I was fully focused on his breathing next to my ear. I could hear him whisper something, but I didn't understand what. I blinked for a second and suddenly the blonde wasn't in front of me anymore and I saw how everything went dark.

The last thing I felt was a sharp pain on my head like somebody hit me hard enough to knock me down.
