Danger

The first thing I noticed after I woke up, was the hard ground I was lying on. It was cold. I sat up and opened my eyes.

Where am I?
What did that guy do?

I was in a dark room again, I recognized the room after a few seconds. I was back in that room.

That fucking room.

But something was different. I was alone. I wasn't able to hear the women from before. I looked around the room, I only could see outlines because of the darkness. Then I saw her.

A woman lied in the corner of the room. I wanted to stand up but I fell down onto my knees again. I looked down at the source of the pain. It was my ankle. I carefully touch it. Yepp, swollen. It was probably broken.

Nice, that was just what I needed.

Hoping it wasn't broken and only a bit damaged, I look back at the woman and crawl around the room until I reach her. Crawling was hurtful too, but it was easier. Her back was facing me.

I swallowed hard. I haven't tried to talk to any of those women again since I gained my will to live back.

Maybe I should've.
Maybe we all think the same and are scared.

"H-Hey, are you... are you awake?" My throat hurt. It felt dry like the insides were made out of sandpaper. The woman didn't move a muscle. I developed a really good hearing, which became natural if you were used to being stuck in a room where your eyes wouldn't work properly. Despite my enhanced hearing, there was no notion of her breathing. We usually could hear at least the breaths of one another.

That was always a kind of comfort since coming here.

They were alive and human, just like me. Even if I thought they were crazy for being head over heels for the vampire, as if I was any better, it was comforting to not be alone.

I think the first days I never understood that this was all it. It was all real. A vampire.

And they probably did not either. Walking towards their death smiling, smitten. Not even realizing the danger, or rather not being able to run from it.

I grabbed the woman and turned her around so she was facing me.

Instant regret.

I backed off and let out a loud shriek. She had a really big smile placed on her once rosy lips. Her eyes were wide opened, but the thing that freaked me out most were the two holes in her throat. Her whole body appeared a little wrinkled to me.

Yes, I saw dead bodies before, but they weren't like her.

It was rare, but sometimes a few women came back after meeting the blonde man. The ones he fancied he didn't kill instantly, hoping they regenerated so he could have seconds. But they didn't last.

They never did. They would always die a few hours after coming back. So yes, I saw the others die from blood loss but I've never seen a human being so sucked dry that the flesh and skin started to get wrinkles.

Honestly, I felt really bad. I didn't feel bad for her in particular. I felt bad because I felt happy again.

I always felt happy when the vampire chose someone else to suck the life out of them.

Was I a bad person because of that? Probably.

At first, I wanted him to bite me too. I wanted it so bad. But at first, we were more women. I'm a pretty small woman, so the others could easily push themselves in front of me.

At first, I hated it that I'm that small, but I helped me survive. It gave me enough time for the dream to shatter.

I basically survived on luck if you'll take it like that. But now the last woman in the room was dead. I was the only one left. Normally, more women would join us, when we were the last three. The vampire probably didn't want that his food would run out.
