Chapter 17

When Wayo Panitchayasawad was called out to the head Doctor's office, he knew he was getting a new assignment. He was someone who liked to stay busy and take on new assignments immediately after the previous one had ended, a workaholic almost. However, the cute Omega also liked to have freedom within his own work rather than let someone else dictate the terms. This was the main reason why he had opted to get into this line of work.

As Wayo was walking towards the office though, he had a strange feeling. He was hoping that he would not get another Dr. K case but somehow he felt he could not be so lucky. He also had a twisting feeling in his gut that he could not understand. His instincts were all over the place and he suddenly found himself nervous. Or maybe it was the fact that his heat was just a week away.

Whatever the cause of his uneasiness, Wayo marched into the office, knocked and entered. He was introduced to a couple, who looked quite lovely together. A few seconds of staring at each other though, Wayo felt like he had seen the Alpha standing in front of him somewhere and it was just a couple of seconds later that the said Alpha, as well as Wayo, cried out, finally having remembered, "You!"

Kongpob had taken on an angry look as he recognized the man before him. All he was thinking was that he could not let this clumsy person anywhere near his Phii. The Alpha though was brought back to reality as he felt a gentle touch to his arm. He looked around to see his Omega smiling beautifully at him. All his anger seemed to have seeped away immediately.

"Kong..it's okay. Let all take a seat first, okay?" Kongpob nodded as he automatically did what Arthit had said.

Arthit had too realized who the good-looking Omega in front of them was. But he didn't really mind as when he had bumped into this man in the hospital he had not sensed any negative vibes. He felt like it was just an accident and was a one-off, rather than something to be held on as grudge. Kongpob's reaction though was not very promising. And that's why the pregnant Omega felt he should take the lead in talking.

He Waiied at the man in a peach t-shirt, "I am Arthit and this is my mate Kongpob. It is good to meet you Khun.."

"Wayo Panitchayasawad." The young man said as he returned the Waii and smiled politely. "You can call me P'Wayo or P'Yo. That is okay, N'Arthit." As the two Omegas interacted both felt something of a connection immediately. The polite and respectful smiles and the manner in which they had suddenly become comfortable talking was not sitting well with the Alpha, but he didn't say anything.

Wayo also was feeling comfortable talking to Arthit and so ignored the angry vibes from the Alpha sitting next to him. "So, how far along are you, N'Arthit?"

"Almost fifteen weeks now.." Arthit said. He was beaming and glowing pink without even realizing and that is when Kongpob felt like his mate might have really taken to this guy.

"Oh, that's lovely. The second term will start soon and that's when the exciting stuff happens! How cool!" Wayo said and he grinned with genuine happiness and clapping his hands together in his excitement.

Arthit's eyes shined as he watched the young man and Kongpob couldn't help but smile along. If this guy was making his Phii happy and in turn making the Alpha forget his anger...almost.. he couldn't be all that bad, right?

"So, who is your doctor?" Wayo asked, although he already had a hunch as to who it was.

"Dr. K..." It was Kongpob who answered this time, startling Wayo slightly. Wayo snorted and smirked as he turned towards Dr. Pasinkar and made a pleading face, "Why? Why can't I get someone else, like ever?"

The doctor just answered flatly, "Because you are the best," and then added with a smirk and glint of mischievousness in his eyes, "Besides, I think he prefers you.." The way the doctor stretched the word 'prefers' did not go unnoticed by Arthit and it struck him that there could be more going on here. He smiled inwardly.

Wayo's head snapped to pierce the doctor with an angry gaze, his eyes squinting challengingly. The doctor immediately cleared his throat, "Uh..I mean you are just as ..umm meticulous as he is.." hearing the stuttering response Arthit couldn't help but smile, which he covered with a small cough.

Wayo seemed to have settled with that answer, though he didn't look like he believed the doctor. But the young man turned towards Arthit with a smile, "I will, of course, study your case completely, reports and all, when everything is finalized. That is if you decide to hire me," he chuckled a bit and focused on Kpngpob, "And yes, our first meet was not great, but I am a perfectionist and I am not the clumsy idiot you think I am. In my defense, I was really furious.."

The doctor's eyebrow quirked up. It seemed like Wayo had met the couple and it hadn't been a pleasant encounter.

It was Arthit who laughed at Wayo's words. He patted the Alpha's hand, "It's okay Phii. Let's forget about that, shall we? I have a feeling we will get along just fine."

The words mad Kongpob frown but he relaxed as Arthit squeezed his hand. The Alpha realized that his Phii had already made up his mind to hire this man.

"I believe so too. This is amazing. I love to work with a loving and understanding couple. So tell me something more.."

"Umm..As I said, I am almost fifteen weeks, and well..it's possibly twins." As Arthit said he blushed dark pink, shy and embarrassed.

Wayo jumped up, clapping his hands with child-like happiness, "Oh goodie! This is great."

Kongpob added, "We will only be able to confirm at our appointment next week. Hopefully, everything has settled down and is going smoothly."

Sensing the somber tone of the Alpha, Wayo nodded seriously. "Everything will be great, I am sure. And as long as everyone involved is healthy ..that's what matters most, right?"

The couple nodded. Wayo asked, "When is the appointment? I will be accompanying you guys, with my own set of questions. If you can just detail what instructions Dr. K has given you so far, that will be great. Also, I will need your file so I can study everything in detail. If everything else is finalized, we can discuss the timings and I can start working for you from tomorrow. How is that?"

The couple looked at Dr. Pasinkar who was nodding with questioning eyes. Kongpob looked at Arthit, who smiled brightly. A moment later everyone was shaking each other's hands, sealing the deal.
