I loved airports. I don't know what it was about them, they just made me smile. I loved being in them, I loved walking through them. Today, today made me dread the simple thought of stepping into an airport. I sat awkwardly in some classy SUV with the windows tinted holding onto Harry as if I was about to fall out of the car. I stared out the window until I saw the sign that read 'Logan Airport'. I cringed and looked away, tears forming in my eyes.
"Hey, hey. Don't cry love, I'll be back." Harry said grabbing onto my chin with his hand. "You know I love Boston." He said smiling.
"But you were only here for 3 days and now you're leaving again. This was the first time in 4 months that I got to see you, I don't want it to be over already." I sighed into his chest. He took away all of my worries, but when he left he left me with the worst separation anxiety yet.
"I know babe, distance really sucks. But it's me and you. We can make this shit work." Harry said sternly. The car came to a stop and I reluctantly got out of the car and walked around to meet Harry on the other side. He took my hand in his and led me through Logan airport.
Harry had a police escort through to his gate so the airport security let me walk him all the way in. Granted I would have pitched a fit if they didn't but either way it worked out. We began to reach his gate and I could feel Harry's grip on my hand tighten. Instantly I thought back to our three days together.
*Flashback*
"Look at you, Jules! Julia Connors, THE athletic trainer for the New England Patriots! And they say I'm the celebrity!" Harry laughs.
This was the first time Harry actually saw me at work. It worked out where his little group of days off landed on one of my home games so Harry had the chance to come back down to Boston and see me at my finest.
I've been an athletic trainer for about a year now and have been working exclusively for the Patriots for about 5 months. I wanted to be a physical therapist for awhile but sports were always appealing to me so athletic training was my happy middle ground.
With this job I got to travel with the team and help them before and after their games. I loved being able to travel but honestly, I would rather be traveling with Harry.
*End of Flashback*
"Hey, look at me. I don't want you to be sad, alright? I only have to make one apperance in Sydney tomorrow and then I'm done. When's your next game?" Harry asked looking at me with his hands on my face.
"I'm going to Winsconsin in 4 days and then San Diego a week later." I told him.
"Green Bay? You know I love Green Bay!" Harry's face lit up.
"Ha, yeah I do babe." I laughed weakly.
"Hey, tell you what. After my preformance in Sydney I'll see how bad jetlag is kicking my arse and then I can catch a flight and meet you in Wisconsin! How does that sound?" Harry beamed.
"That sounds perfect! Ill see you in 4 days, handsome." I winked.
"Just 4 days, beautiful." Harry said just before crashing his lips to mine.
"Flight 843 leaving for Sydeny." Boomed through the intercom, breaking Harry and I's kiss.
"That's me, love." Harry said with his forehead resting on mine. "I'll be seeing you"
"4 days." I whispered. "Just 4 days." I watched Harry as he walked through the tunnel. Just before he turned the corner he turned back and gave me a smile. I waved just as a tear rolled down my cheek. It's just 4 days, why am I crying?
Probably because I know he'll just have to leave again.
