After looking at all the rooms and talking to Tsu outside, Kirishima went back to his room just in time to see Bakugo going from the bath in his room as well.
"Hey Bakugo", Kirishima greeted his friend.
"Oh, have you already finished your stupid tour around the shitty dorm already?", Bakugo spat rolling his eyes and Kirishima went up to him.
"Are you okay, man?", he looked at him concerned and followed him inside the room because Bakugo had left the door open and this was more of an invitation than he would ever get.
"Why didn't you join us?", Kirishima asked when he closed the door and then sat down in Bakugo's desk chair.
"I don't want to be around anyone", Bakugo only grumbled when he let himself fall back on his bed.
"Because they are all weak and idiots?", Kirishima suggested but Bakugo only huffed and sat up looking at him.
"No", he answered after some moments of silence and mustering from Kirishima's side.
"You know Tsu hasn't been there too because she felt bad about what she said to us and she thought she didn't deserve fun", Kirishima told him to get him to spill the beans as to why he hadn't joined them. Bakugo would never miss an opportunity where he could pinpoint why exactly everyone else was worse than he himself. Looking at their rooms would have been the perfect opportunity. As he noticed Bakugo tense, he knew that he had hit the spot.
"That couldnt be it right?", Kirishima asked honestly confused "but you weren't meaner than usual? Why would you punish yourself?"
"Shut up", Bakugo mumbled not sounding like he really meant it. The usual passion was missing.
"Oh my god, Bakugo. Why would you think like Tsu?", Kirishima asked wide eyed.
"Because this is all my fault okay? Us moving here, people getting hurt, All Might losing his power, the world losing a symbol of peace. All of this is my fault and now look at me and tell me that I deserve to have fun like all of you!", Bakugo yelled at him with a pained expression.
Bakugo stared at him and Kirishima was shocked. Not at the outburst but at the tears brimming Bakugo's eyes and the stuff he had said. He took this all on himself although he had been the victim. Kirishima had never seen his friend so vulnerable. Not even when he saved him from a hostage situation a few days prior.
"But none if this was your fault", Kirishima furrowed his brows looking at his friend concerned "you have been the victim-"
"Dont call me a victim", Bakugo groaned "I am not a vic-".
"Cut it, man! Being a victim doesn't mean not being strong. These villains have been much more people. None of us would have stood a chance. You were the victim in this situation if you like it or not. But that also means that it was not your fault okay. Dont shoulder that burden. It's dumb and you are not. So stop it already", Kirishima told him straight up what he was thinking "it was a horrible situation and one person alone could not stand a chance against so many villains. You are just a human as well and I know you don't like to hear that but sometimes you can't win. They could have killed you, you know? We were worried sick and we are so happy that we got you back in one piece so don't you dare tell me in my face that you feel bad about everything because you think you were weak or some shit. They could have fucking killed you but they didn't. You know why? Because you are fucking strong and they wanted you on their side because of your power. And even when you made sure they knew that this would not happen they couldn't kill you because you didn't let them. They might have got you kidnapped but they couldn't harm you because you are too fucking powerful for them to handle. I don't know why you think that you are not allowed to make mistakes or be human or be vulnerable but just let me tell you that nobody blames you for anything that happened back at the training camp and in Camino. Absolutely no one. The only emotion that we had was fear. We feared for your life. But you handled that and got us all reliefed. So please don't be like that. We lost you for a few days because of those villains. Don't make us lose you for longer because you feel like you failed. You didn't. I promise you that. We just want you back, man. Don't shut us out".
"Are you done now, shitty hair?", Bakugo asked as if he didn't care but his face betrayed him. He was blushing slightly and his mouth was twitching only the smallest bit upwards. Most people wouldn't have noticed but Kirishima did and he was sure that his words had gotten to Bakugo.
"Yeah I am done now", Kirishima nodded and stood up to leave Bakugo alone.
"Where do you think you're going?", Bakugo asked him bluntly.
"To my room?", Kirishima more asked than stated.
"You just told me not to shut you out and now you want to leave me alone?", Bakugo kind of accused him but Kirishima was used to this being his kind of asking him to stay "I thought you'd want to watch a movie or something as tomorrow isn't a school day".
"Yeah exactly", Kirishima just went with it "I was just about to change into some sweatpants and fetch a movie from my collection and will be back in no time at all".
"You better", Bakugo mumbled as Kirishima left the room with a smile on his face. He returned only five minutes later and settled into the chair again while Bakugo sat on his bed and they started to watch one of Kirishima's favourite movies.
