                   6 long years later...

Sand tail flicked a scorpion across the sand with his tail. He missed the palace, the Queen, Burn, Warm sand heated beds not the cold sands of the night he missed the feasting and treasure he even missed Princess Blaze. He hated Blister with all his heart. He wanted to claw her eyes out and make her suffer an awful death. But that would only get him in more trouble...

He sighed. That stronghold was gone...  everything... gone. He would never have that life back. He stabbed the scorpion and shoved it into his mouth. It was dry and crunchy. The warmth of the bug made him realise how desperate he was for water. But he couldn't risk going to the oasis near the Ice kingdom for that would mean he would have to pass the stronghold and tons of guards.  More sea water for me then... Belch! It was awful! But it was the only thing available at the moment.  There wasn't much option around. He'd found small pools of water in the past but they didn't last long.

The warm air swooshed around him.  At least I have the desert sands and the warm sun.

There was a sound in the distance only a weak whimper. But it sounded more like a yelp of need. Could it really be real or just his imagination? No it had to be a dragon. I don't know if I should help them...what if it's a Sandwing soldier? But if I save her she might spare my life in return. Or better Maybe  even get me a place back in the stronghold!

Excitement burst through his veins as he bulleted across the sands without realising he had passed the stronghold unnoticed. There was a dragon... but not a Sandwing. A Nightwing! What was she doing so far out? He had never seen a Nightwing dragonet away from there secret home. Why is she calling for help? Wait...is she stuck in a quick sand?! I've got to help her!

He spread his wings and flew over her. She looked up desperately and reached her talons out toward him. He grabbed them and pulled her desperately trying to get her out. Her wings suddenly popped out of the sand and the sand came flying up into his eyes. He was forced to let go.

He blinked until it fell out of his eyes and he looked down. She was flapping hard and her neck had just disappeared under and her mouth neared the sand. He reached toward her again but her talons were sunk under. How do I get her out of this? He tugged her wing but she let out a muffled yowl of pain as sand filled her mouth. He grabbed her horns ruffly and pulled. She looked up with big watery eyes. It did hurt but he didn't have a choice.

She beat her wings to make the experience faster. Her mouth had obviously gone dry from all the sand that poured out of her mouth so she didn't dare talk for it would only make her mouth dryer. The oasis wasn't far. Once she was out of the quicksand he carried her there then dumped her beside the pool she tossed her head in gulping it up. I guess some tribes need more water than others.

Sandtail drank up until his mouth was completely moist. This water should last for a couple days. A couple moments later the Nightwing finished up. "Thank you" she breathed. "No problem" he answered with a grin on his face. "So..." he asked her. "What's an Nightwing doing in the sand kingdom?"

She had a hesitant look on her face like it was private. "C'mon! It's not like I'm gonna tell the other nightwings or something" She looked deeply into his orange eyes. "Promise?" She said. "Course!" She took a couple more deep breaths. "I'm not suppose to be here Nightwing dragonets aren't allowed to leave the secret island until there ten"He nodded in understanding but didn't ask where there island was.

She continued. "I was eating a cobra I found but I wasn't looking and I fell into the quicksand" She's shy. Probably doesn't like meeting new dragons I guess. "Do you want me to go over to your cobra and make him extra dead?" He joked. She laughed so hard she toppled over. "You probably wanna' get back home before someone finds you"She nodded and went off into the sky. He was sad to see her go for some odd reason he couldn't figure out. She kept glancing back at him multiple time with her dark purple eyes. He didn't know why but he felt like they would meet again.
