Ianthe sighed quietly as she sat down on the side of the road, watching cars drive by and kids running around with their friends. She was bored, and lonely. Eventually she would get up, her bottom hurting, feeling kinda numb from sitting on the curb for so long. She would stretch before trudging along the side of the road heading towards a small restaurant where the owner knew her fairly well, you could even say she was her mom.

Ianthe didn't realize she dozed off until she was hit with the nice fresh scent of freshly baked food. She'd look up seeing the restaurant come closer to view. Ianthe loved the location of the restaurant because with the nice scent of food and ocean filling her nose, the nice slowly swaying of trees, gentle cool breeze, hot sun on her face, and the great view of the almost white sand constantly shining from the sun and beautiful blue water hitting the beach and dock. Suddenly Ianthe's body would be jerked forward, a pain starting to arise from her toe, she'd wince and stiffen her body.

"Dumb sidewalk.... Attacking me..." She'd mumble before walking a little pained to the restaurant glass doors and opening them, the cool inside conditioned air hitting her face. The resturaunt was currently closed since it was early on a Sunday morning, but there stood her 'mom' getting everything set up for when the resturaunt would open.

"Oh, good morning Ianthe.. How are you.." Her mom would call out, knowing Ianthe likes visiting before the resturaunt got busy.

"I'm good, just bored and a little hungry." She'd reply, walking over to the counter, her thin frame just barely able to see over. Ianthe would go on her tip toes and rest her arm and head on the counter, watching her mom walk back and forth.

"Do you want... Some.. bacon and eggs? Or waffles?" She'd offer, wiping her hands on her apron before walking back into the kitchen, smiling warmly at Ianthe when she noticed she followed.

"Oooh! Can I help?" Ianthe would jump up and down excitably.

"I don't see the harm in that." Her mom would laugh quietly before grabbing a hair tie and turning around to face Ianthe. She'd then carefully pull Ianthe's short light brown hair back into a pony tail and tying it before picking her up and heading over to the sink. She'd turn the faucet on and leaned so Ianthe could reach the soap and water. When she was done washing her hands she'd set her down and handed her a towel to dry off her hands before laughing quietly when she saw Ianthe's big smile and run over to grab a chair to help her reach the stove and cabinets better. When she was done washing and drying her hands she'd grab the ingredients and walked over to Ianthe, setting everything up before helping her crack an egg and put it in the pan.

"Yum!" Ianthe would say as she took a bite of her egg. They where siting at  a table by the window, eating their breakfast together in peaceful silence.

"This tastes really good! Your cooking is always the best!" Ianthe would giggle as she  scarfed down her food fairly quick.

"All thanks to your help!" Her mom would then lightly tap Ianthe's nose before they both shared a laugh together.

"Well, the restaurant is going to be open in a few minutes, so why don't you go out and spend some time outside, then come back for lunch?... I'll make your favorite..!" Her mom would say in a sort of sing-songy tune, earning a bright smile and small giggle from Ianthe before a quick little hug.

"Ok! I'll be back! Maybe this time I could invite a friend?" Ianthe would say, heading towards the door.

"Yes, You can invite a friend." Her mom wold smile lightly before slightly waving as Ianthe turned the closed sign around to say open before leaving, practically skipping away to the park to mess around. She'd sigh quietly before heading behind the counter, her light smile staying for the rest of the day.
