Thursday 28th November

Taeyong was drawing fanart of some anime, waiting for the doctor to come in and discharge him.

He couldn't wait for the stupid IV to be gone. It was freaking annoying because anytime he would have to change it got stuck and solely the feeling was icky for Taeyong.

Jaehyun on the other hand was on his phone, probably chatting with some of his friends, not that Taeyong really cared.

The door slammed open and a young looking doctor came in, with the biggest smile on earth. The younger questioned if he had taken some drugs, because he seemed so energetic, too energetic.

"Good news, Mr. Lee. You can be discharged today, but you will need to be prepared to use the feeding tube at home. One of the nurses will come by in a few minutes."

Before Taeyong could even ask about his IV-line the young doctor rushed out of the room leaving the two youngsters flabbergasted. What on earth?

By noon, the nurse still hadn't come by to give him the basics of feeding tubes. Taeyong was growing frustrated by the minute and his growling stomach just made things worse.

Angrily he turned to Jaehyun: "Can't we just leave? I'm bored."

Jaehyun sighed and got up, leaving the latter confused.

A few minutes later he came back with the nurse.

'Finally', he thought.

She started by spraying some disinfectant on the plaster surrounding the IV and pulled the IV. Then she pressed a cotton swab on the bleeding spot, motioning Taeyong to press down for her.

"I already packed some basic essentials for the feeding tube, but you will have to come by the hospital once a week to fill your stock. You have to replace the band-aid every two days, always positioning the tube a bit different, to prevent scars. Your target is about 2000-2500 calories a day. A bag of feed is exactly 500 calories, so make sure to count your calories all the time. It would be best if you write down everything.

Before and after tube feeding you have to rinse the tube with normal water, there are also some water bags in the box I'm giving you.

To control the speed of the feed just roll this up and down", the nurse pointed at the controlling piece.

After making sure the two boys understood what they had to do, they were let out, not before getting a cute band aid for where the IV was placed.

Neither of the boys wanted to stay at the hospital longer, thus leaving quickly.

Back at home Jaehyun decided the younger was in dire need of a hot bath and let the water flow in, putting a vanilla scented bath bomb in. The water illuminated a blue colour with glitter sparkling, making it look relaxing. He called for the younger, who came in waddling cutely with his panda bathrobe.

"Please leave the door unlocked, in case something happens, I'll be downstairs, preparing dinner. Any special wishes?" The light haired boy asked smiling, showing his dimples.

"Dumplings!" Taeyong blurted out with a glow in his eyes.

Jaehyun nodded and went downstairs, leaving Taeyong alone.

The sick boy undressed flinching every time he had to move his head. He still hadn't become accustomed with the feeling of having a thick ass spaghetti shoved down his throat.

He put his hand in the water testing the warmth of the water, nodding satisfied and slowly going in.

He instantly relaxed once the warm water engulfed his body. The water colour was so aesthetically pleasing, he wished he had brought his polaroid camera to take a photo. This was totally Tumblr-like.

The thought of that made him smile. The simplest things made him smile. He enjoyed life, even if he was sick. And he was extra excited because it was nearing advent time, his most cherished time of the year.

He could just cuddle up in a blanket and drink hot cocoa. It was wonderful.

"How was your bath?" Jaehyun asked the latter after he came downstairs, hair still wet.

Taeyong nodded cutely and inhaled the heavenly smell, coming from the kitchen.

The older motioned for Taeyong to sit down at the table, which was already set.

Soon after Jaehyun came from the kitchen, two large pots in his hands and put them down on the table.

One pot had Taeyongs wished dumplings and the other had Kimchi-fried-rice in it.

"It looks soooo good", Taeyong squealed with a big smile on his smile.

This made Jaehyun happy. He loved seeing the younger smile or having fun.

He seriously admired Taeyong, for still being so happy despite being so sick. He wished he could have the same mindset as the younger to life.

It was truly unique.

They ate in silence, Taeyong sometimes moaning by the way the food tasted. Jaehyun really was not only a good caregiver, but also a superb cook.

The day ended by watching "Another" to distract the younger from the cold feeling of the feed in his NG-tube (his type of feeding tube).
