Jonathan had just arrived in a small city where there wasn't much crime except for the occasional bank robberies. He came here thanks to the advice of his friend Brock to help escape the police that were after him. He was and still is a wanted criminal on the run.

His first murder started in a much larger city while he was out at night and was just coming back from a club. That's when a couple of guys jumped him and knocked him out in the fist fight that ensued. When he awoken, he saw that one of them was beaten to a bloody pulp and wasn't moving. He looked down at his hands and saw that they were covered in blood causing him to fun away when he heard sirens.

He learned that when he fights someone back, he turns more violent and can't control himself. Which has resulted in him killing more people in the process, sometimes he even goes after innocent people when in this state. Which has lead the police to try and catch him but they couldn't figure out who he was, so they called him Delirious.

Now he was in the small city looking for a place to stay. Thankfully, none of the people he passed by recognized him. He was probably thinking that the news hasn't hit this small city yet.

As he continued looking for a place to stay, he sees an apartment complex that looked a bit worn down and went over to see what it has to offer. He goes up to the entrance and sees a sign that read 'For Sale' in worn out lettering. He pushed the door and it slowly creaked open.

"Seems that this place hasn't been used in a while.", he said to himself and went into the building.

Inside the abandoned building, was that most familiar scene, a lot of rusty crates and empty and rusty inventories were scattered around the room, including one or two unmarked barrels with paper on it, a selection of bookshelves, a table with some chairs and some flooring as well as broken construction tools.

Jonathan thought of this place as his new home, but only temporarily. For now he needed to get a working fridge and a bed for him to sleep in.

"Evan you do know how bad the situation is, after all this guy has been on the run for about six months.", Brian said to him over the phone.

"Look I know, so far the only thing we know about this Delirious guy is that he only appears at nighttime around clubs or malls.", Evan replied back.

"But the problem is that these clubs and malls are far apart from each other, something tells me this guy is a type of drifter.", Brian says to him.

"But we don't know for sure until we gather more intel about him, has there been any witness accounts?", Evan asked.

"Unfortunately no, not yet actually. Look I'll update you more about Delirious once I get back to the local PD.", Brian says and hangs up.

Evan then puts his phone up and looks up at the train schedule to see when the next train will arrive. He was tasked to go to a detective agency in a small city to help them solve the case about Delirious. After all he's been considered one of the best detectives in the state of North Carolina.

But he also had something on his mind as well besides the case, he was also searching his long lost best friend back when they were in high school. He still had the letter from his friend before he disappeared. He takes the letter that he still has with him and reads it silently.

"Dear Evan,

I can't tell you how much I appreciate on how you helped me and my mom out. It's been tough since my dad died but thanks to you and your family we've been able to get by. But unfortunately I'm afraid we have to part ways soon since we had just graduated and are moving on. But that doesn't mean we won't be friends anymore. I'll be sure to keep in contact with you soon.

Signed,
Jonathan Dennis"

As Evan read these last words from the letter, a tear runs down his cheek. He had missed him so much and hoped to find Jonathan soon.
