Brock was riding with his friend back to his house since his truck needed to get repaired. They stopped at an intersection where there was a stop light.
His friend who picked him up was named Alberta Soto and she worked at one of the gas stations. But whenever his colleagues see him get picked up by her, they think that she's his girlfriend. Which isn't the case at all. Turns out she's only interested into other women.
"Mind running that one more time, you mean to tell me you're truck got damaged because someone try to steal it and your colleague got pinned underneath it?", she said as she checked the rearview mirror.
"Yeah that's what happened. I even mentioned how it was all caught on the surveillance camera.", he replied back to her.
"I see, I just hope that colleague of yours is alright. What was his name again?", she said and straightened her honey blonde hair out.
"His name is Wyatt Mills. Although I wasn't sure why he was out there since he's usually watching surveillance.", he said to her.
"I think you should mention that part to the police.", she said to him.
He nodded in agreement and soon the light turned green and she started driving again. After about a few minutes later, they pulled into his driveway where he got out.
"Thanks for the ride, I'll call you tomorrow to come pick me up for work.", he said to her and went up the porch steps of his house.
"No problem, but I hope your shift doesn't start after the beginning of my shift.", she replied and backed out of the driveway and went home.
Brock then unlocked his door and goes back into his house then goes to the kitchen to make himself some dinner. As he got started preparing the food, he received a call from his cell phone. He stops what he's doing and answers it.
"Hello, who's this?", he asked.
"Is this Brock from earlier, it's me Brian. I had to call you to see if you were busy or not.", Brian replied.
"Well I was about to get my dinner started, did you need me for questioning?", he asked.
"Well not necessarily questioning but I need you to come to the precinct to verify something for us.", Brian replied.
"Alright, just one minute and I will be there. But I might need a ride there.", he replied.
"That would make sense, just tell me your address and I'll be there.", Brian said.
Brock then started to tell his address to him and also mentioning a quicker way to get there. They both hang up and he waits for Brian to arrive.
After about twenty minutes, he sees a police car park in his driveway and goes out to meet him. Brian comes out of the driver seat and motions for Brock to get into the passenger seat.
"Almost forgot that your truck was damaged.", Brian said with a chuckle.
"Yeah, it'll probably won't get done being repaired in two days.", Brock replied.
Brian nodded and gets back into the driver seat after Brock sits in the passenger seat then starts the car and pulls out of the driveway. He starts making his way to the precinct when his phone starts to ring in his pocket.
"Do you want me to get it for you while you're still driving?", Brock asked him as he heard the sound of the default ringtone that Brian had set up for his phone.
"Don't worry about it, I can just answer it when we arrive. I'm sure it's probably nothing important.", Brian said as he took a quick glance at Brock.
"Alright, just let me know in case you want me to answer the phone for you.", Brock said with a slight shrug as Brian continued to drive on.
After about ten minutes passed, they eventually arrive at the precinct and Brian comes out of the driver's seat and goes towards the entrance. Brock follows after him after exiting the passenger side of the police car.
Brian opens enters into the precinct lobby with Brock in tow and the receptionist greets them from behind the desk.
"Good to see you again Detective Brian, who is that behind you?", the receptionist asked as she looked at Brock standing behind him and rubbing his arm awkwardly.
"Oh him? I had him come here for questioning, or rather I brought him here since his truck is getting repaired.", Brian explained to her.
"Ah I see, well Detective Cedar is wondering where you are. He's been looking for you since this morning.", she said to him.
"What does he want now, unless it's with our current case I'm not interested.", he replied back and sighed a bit.
"I'm not really sure myself, but I think you should meet with him just in case.", she said to him.
"Alright fine, see you later Rhonda.", he said and went towards the direction where the questioning room was at as Brock followed him.
"Who's Detective Cedar?", Brock asked him as he walked with Brian. He never heard of someone's name being Cedar.
"My boss who's also a hard ass. Cedar is just a nickname we use for him since he's tough as nails. He's also buff as hell too since I saw him working out the other day.", Brian replied to him.
"Ah I see, that would make sense after all.", Brock said to him as he continued following behind.
Brian simply nodded in response not wanting to talk more about his boss. They eventually arrive at the questioning room and Brian looks at his phone to see who called him, only seeing his partner's name. He also sees a text message from his partner saying about a car crash.
"Oh shit!", Brian said a bit loudly.
"What is it?", Brock asked him wondering what would have caused him to curse loudly.
"My partner sent a message to me about a car crash!", he replied back.
