Summary: you two argue and you get hurt on call

"I told you to stay put!" Marjan exits the firetruck, hot-headed and ready for an argument.

The two of you had gone to help a patient who was a potential suspect and when you turned around he was gone. Or so you thought. Marjan had told you to stay on the porch with the rest of the team since you were new, while she entered the home, however, you weren't going to let him enter the home without backup and followed in after hearing the commotion.

"He had you pinned, you're lucky I came in when I did!" You sit down, continuing to hold pressure on the small wound on your head.

You'd tackled the guy and he'd gotten the upper hand, throwing you into the nearby furniture. It was only a small knick, nothing needed stitches and it would probably bruise but Marjan made it sound like you'd just been shot in front of him.

"Yeah you handled it well." she motions to your head, "I told you to stay put and you didn't follow orders. You work under me. You listen to me."

"No Marjan, I don't work under you." You pop open the first aid kit, "We both work at the same level. You went into that home without knowing what you were walking into. I heard the commotion and came to your aid. Technically, I did listen to you."

"You're so stubborn, Y/N. You never listen to orders and in the end that's going to get you or one of your team members killed." she walks out of the room with a slam.

You didn't understand her anger, why she'd gone in on you like that. You did listen to orders. You stayed and kept watch until you heard her commotion and came to her aid. Was it a pride thing? Because you had to help her?

The two of you had dated for a short period and decided it wasn't the right time. However, that seemed to cause tension between you and Marjan. You had no idea why but Marjan would start arguments with you, pick fights over little things. Little things like this.

Cap thought it would be best to get this out of your system, learn to work together again, and send the two of you to help the patient together. Well, you see how that turned out.

You were frustrated. Why had she changed toward you? Why did she have to be hostile? You did regret your decision at first and missed Marjan dearly, but soon she became angry at you as she despised you. It made you wonder if there was even a chance for you two in the future. So, you started moving on, which unbeknownst to you, only drove Marjan even madder. She didn't know how to deal with his feelings. She missed you and she wanted you back, but it seemed you were moving on just fine. On to the next guy/girl. Date after date. She decided to bury her feelings, which also meant pushing you away.

"You okay?" Paul asks softly as they enter the breakroom after hearing the conversation. They even felt the hate and anger in Marjan's voice.

You sniffle, deciding to put on a tough front. "I'm fine." Digging through the first aid you find a band-aid and the antiseptic.

"She's going through a lot at the moment." Paul takes a seat next to you, "Her ex-fiance keeps threatening her."

You perked up at that, "What? When did this happen?" You hadn't known this about her ex and soon her anger began to make sense. She truly wasn't frustrated at you.

"She didn't tell you?" Paul takes over the first aid care, gathering the ointment on a small q-tip before applying it softly.

You shook your head, "She doesn't.. she won't talk to me anymore."
